Me, an angel? Yeah right!

'I’m surrounded by white fluffy clouds, and I have wings! That’s right I’m a freaking angel.'
Jade is dead, she doesn't know how, she doesn't know why. All she does know is that she's an angel. With no memory of her life and just the mysterious Kye to guide her, she must discover what happened to her, whilst trying to be a good angel of course.

5. Falling for her

I arched my eyebrows “Transport?”
“Yup. When I first arrived, I was transporting, that’s what the little pop was. Sorry I was a little late by the way,”

“Oh so now you apologize,” I stuck my tongue out at him, he responded by tickling me, till I begged for him to stop. Wheezing and panting I tried to talk, “So… how… do… you…transport?” He chuckled softly, and with a small pop, disappeared. He reappeared a second later three feet away from me. “Like that,” He said with a wink. I folded my arms.
“You know, that’s not what I meant.” He sauntered toward me, a cocky grin plastered on his face.
“I know,” he said when he reached me, “I just like winding you up.”
“Oi!” I punched him playfully on the arm.
“Alright, alright, I’ll tell you,” he said feigning terror. He became serious, it can be difficult to master, but you seem to be managing pretty well so far especially with the flying.” I grinned, glowing in light of his praise; I don’t know why it meant so much to me, but being commended by Kye felt like a great honour. “So, how do I, you know, transport,”
“Well it’s not easy, it took me ages to learn it, I was stuck up here for ages whilst I was practicing.” He laughed. “So, just don’t be disheartened if you don’t get it first time.” He took my hand in his, “First you need to get in the right frame of mind, focus your energy, you should have felt it in your wings when you were flying. You need it to flow through you body, this will give you power to transport.” I closed my eyes, clearing my mind. I felt the energy flow from my wings right though my body, tingling at my fingertips.

“Good,” Kye whispered. “Open your eyes but keep your concentration... amazing Jade. Now I’m going to walk away from you, only about three feet. Concentrate on me, imagine yourself next me, when you think you’re ready, close your eyes and will yourself to move through the air, next to me. But don’t allow your wings to fly you...” Kye let go of my hand and backed slowly away from me. I kept my eyes on him, focusing on the exact spot where he was standing. Making sure I kept the energy flowing around my body I closed my eyes. I visualised Kye in my head, where he was standing, I imagined myself standing next to him. My body started to tingle but after about five seconds it died away. I opened my eyes slightly, peeping out, daring to think maybe I had done it. I opened my eyes fully with a sigh; Kye was still three feet away from me. My shoulders slumped; this was going to be difficult.

“Hey Jade it’s fine, that was actually really good,” He walked back towards me, putting an arm around my shoulder. “You did a lot better than I did on my first go, I couldn’t even feel the energy, you were glowing with it!” I looked at him, I flashed him a quick smile, but I was a bit disheartened to be honest. “Food break?” He asked me with a sly grin. I nodded happily.

Kye’s P.O.V.

I quickly conjured some sandwiches and fruit for her, and she tucked in. I took an apple from the tray and sat down on the bed of clouds. I absentmindedly took a bite as I surveyed her carefully. Her curly hair was shining in the light that reflected from the brilliant white clouds surrounding us. Her lips were full and rosy, but there seemed to be some kind of glow coming off her... it must just be the light. But still there was something about her; she wasn’t like any other new angel that I had guided. Fair enough I had only been doing it for a couple of years, but that was still about 20 people, maybe just under. She was picking things up far quicker than I expected. She had already experimented with flying before I even taught her, and she managed it! Maybe I’m just.... no I can’t be, I’ve only known her for a day and a half, I can’t possibly be falling for her... can I?

Jades P.O.V.

I gulped down fresh raspberries, they were the last thing on the tray, and also my favourite. When I had finished my fingers were stained pink and I wiped them on my jeans, leaving little pink smudges but oh well. I looked over at Kye; he was sitting on the floor opposite me, nibbling on an apple core. His fringe was flopping into his dark eyes, making his expression impossible to read. He seemed lost in thought and I didn’t want to disturb him, but then he looked up at me, flashing me his cheeky grin. “Finished?” He asked me. I nodded, and he made the empty tray disappear. He got up and walked over to me, offering me his hand. I took it and he pulled me, laughing. “Can we try transporting again?” I asked him, eager to learn it. He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips.
