Darkness, My Old Friend

I was young and naive. I am not any more. But that does not mean you can't still be tortured by your past, especially you childhood. I questioned my families belief's which they followed so religiously.

Darkness, My Old Friend

Prologue

"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

I was told, since I was young; “The Sound Of Silence. A beauty left untouched by humanity and life, it's self. But not for long. Humanity will touch all at least once and life will screw all at least once.”

A generation of stories lost but “Silence” was able to survive. Why? I was only 7 human years old when I first asked myself this question. Almost automatically, I ran to my 'Mummy'. I was so young at the time, that I didn't realize how my one question could cause a fully grown adult such distress. I didn't know at the time. I was too young to notice that my question went against my entire families belief system. I was naive to think that my question was harmless.
