Why Me?

Liam smiles and reaches his hand up to me. I look at him confused.

"What are yo-" I try to say before he covers my mouth.

"This is going to hurt" He says, leaning towards my neck.

My eyes grow wide. I try to scream but it's muffled by his hand. Liam's other hand wraps around my arms, keeping them down. I struggle, trying to get away while trying to scream. His hold on me tightens. I move around trying to get away. Liam's mouth moves to my neck, softly kissing one spot before digging his teeth into my skin. I let out a bloodcurling scream, trying to get him off me. I stuggle, but that just makes the pain even worse.

All of a sudden, Liam gasps and looks up at me. I have mascara running down my face as I cry even harder. He looks horrified, as he leans away from my neck wiping away the blood, trying to get the blood to stop flowing.

"What have I done?" He whispers to himself, still holding me.

3. The Lacrosse Game

"Alright everyone! Let's warm up!" Yells my coach.

The entire team, including me, groans and gets up from where we were sitting. I put on my goggles and put my mouthpiece in. My friend Sam joins me as we grab our sticks and a ball to throw back and forth.

"How was the movie last night?" I ask, throwing the ball to her.

"Sucked. You're lucky you didn't go." She replies, catching the ball.

Our coach is walking by, watching the team practice.

"Ladies! Less talking, more throwing,"

Sam and I sigh, tossing the ball to each other. Coach blows his whistle signaling that we are gonna head to the field we'll be playing at. Sam and I walk side by side just chatting.

"So what did you do last night?" She asks.

I look at her and chuckle, knowing that there was no way she'd ever believe me.

"Just cleaned my room. Stuff like that." I say nonchalantly.

We look at the other team once we get to the field. They're one of the best teams in our area, it's going to be a tough game. The only cool thing about this game is the fact that we have a student section today. No one ever comes to the lacrosse games, but they all decided to for this game I guess. I take a look at the people in the stands. There's the people in the student section who have their faces painted red and black-our school colors. Then, we have the parents of the players, some people from the newspaper. I continue scanning the bleachers but stop and gasp in surprise at who I see. It's Liam.

How the hell did he find me?! Sam, who had heard me gasp, followed my line of sight. Her mouth drops open at the sight of Liam.

"Holy shit. He is hot!! Do you know him?' She asks jealously.

I slowly nod my head, "If I tell you something you have to promise not to tell anyone!"

As I spoke, we continued to watch him. His jaw tensed as I spoke. Almost like he could... hear me. I take a deep breath and look at her about to talk. My attention is diverted though, when I hear a loud bang coming from the bleachers. I turn my head quickly, worried. I see Liam, who had jumped down from his seat and walked to the front of the bleachers and leaned forward. His face was hard, eyes black as night. He stares at me almost as if he was daring me to continue talking.

"JONES, LUTZ! GET OVER HERE!" screams our coach.

Sam and I run over to the team huddle, everyone wrapped their arms around each other as the captain starts the pep talk. We start to get riled up, jumping up and down occasionally shouting an answer to the captain.

"LET'S GO!" we all scream, running out to the field.

I take my place in defense, I look at the other team just coming out to the field.

"DEFENSE MOVE BACK!" I shout, preparing for the first play.

The rest of defense slowly moved back, leaving the other team in front of us. The referees blow the whistle and the game begins. Occasionally, I sneak a look at Liam whose gaze has never left me. He smiles, seeing that I'm looking at him. I quickly look away, shaking my head to get back in the game.

"JONES!!!" Yells my coach.

I quickly look over at him and he gestures to me. I nod my head, nervous. That gesture meant that we were losing and my coach wanted me to do an illegal move. We called it 'Take Down'. Everyone on my team looks at me, waiting for my decision. I sigh, getting ready for it.

"Switch up switch up!" I yell, meaning that whoever has the ball is mine to guard.

Everyone nods and prepare for the play. The person with the ball comes up to my position. I sprint over to them, distracting them. I then begin the illegal play, knowing that if I get caught I'll get kicked out of our most important game.

I fake a trip, shoving the person with the ball out of bounds and to the ground. I shriek landing, hurting my ankle. The refs and both the teams run over to us, worried. I continue with the play.

"I'm so sorry!!" I wail.

The person I knocked down groans, "It's fine, it's fine."

Our student section is going crazy, cheering. One of the refs walks over to them.

"IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP. YOU CAN JUST LEAVE!' He shouts at them.

My teams mouths drop open. My coach walls over to the ref arguing with him.

"If you don't shut up then you can leave too!" Replies the ref, walking back over to where I lay in actual pain. The play wasn't supposed to end in me being legitimately injured.

"You!" Pointing to me. "That was illegal!"

"I didn't mean to!!" I lie.

"I don't care!" He pulls out a red card "you're out!"

My team all begin to protest, including people in the stands. The trainer walks over and wraps my ankle, helping me up.

"No! Everyone its ok! I don't wanna play in an unfair game!" I shout.

I grab my stuff and walk off the field, heading to the student section. Once there I sit down, gesturing to the refs to start the game again. The girl I had pushed down gets a penalty throw. When she gets ready to throw the ball I stand up and scream at the top of my lungs. She misses the goal. I shrug my shoulders as to say 'oh well' when the other team gives me looks. I sit down, quietly. I watch the game but get distracted when someone sits down next to me. Of course, it's Liam.

"How's your ankle?" He asks.

I sigh, "It's fine"

"What kind of play was that?" He asks amused.

I groan, annoyed, "It's called 'Take Down' I was supposed to distract her and then fake a trip, making her fall as well, which would hopefully end in her getting hurt so they would use the backup players. I wasn't supposed to get caught, or hurt myself"

Liam makes a humming noise and stays quiet watching the game with me for the rest of the game.
