It's like a diary but it's not

It's like a diary but it's not is about the life of James Duke. He writes all of his events in a book describing his feelings about his annoying friend Harry, his cow of an ex-girlfriend Susan, his maniac mother and his loving girlfriend Mary.

18. 4th January

Well it’s January and it’s starting to snow, I remember when I was a kid, I used to love the snow. Waking up in the morning and looking out the window to see a white blanket spread across the land. My heart leapt because I knew school was closed, so I went back to sleep and when I woke up again I went out and played in the snow with my brother Dave, we had snowball fights, made Snowmen and rolled in the ground making snow angels. But now I’m a grown man and I hate the snow, work is always open and I can always make it to work, because it’s in town which is just down the street from where we live. I hate the hassle that comes with snow. I have to wrap up extra warm and trudge through layers and layers of thick snow just to get to work. Thank god it wasn’t snowing; well at least it wasn’t when I looked out the window while I was putting my tie on. As soon as I opened the door leading out of the block of flats, the wind was blowing as fast and as loud as Formula 1 racing car, it was snowing so hard I couldn’t see anything two feet away. Luckily for Mary she couldn’t get to work in this weather, she has to drive to the next town, which is about half an hour away,  to get to Boots, she’s waiting for a job to open up in the local pharmacy and then she’s going to get a transfer. So lucky Mary gets to stay home nice and warm in her pyjamas with a hot cup of coco, while I have to endure the flakes of snow blowing into my eye and blinding me, whilst fighting the gale force winds, whilst it whistles past my ears and turning them bright red, my fingers so cold that they are frozen and blue, my toes frozen that I think they might fall off and my nice clean, ironed trousers soaked.  Then when I get to work I have to sit I wet clothes and wait for them to dry off, the annoying thing is just when my clothes are dry again I have to make the journey back.
