48. Chapter Forty-Two continues

"Do you like this one?"

I had forced Harry to endure a few outfit changes, discarding one dress and settling on the last few choices.

"That ones nice." Harry nodded at the blue material.

"You've said that about all three." I huffed.

"That's because you'll look gorgeous in all of them."

"Well I can't wear all of them."

My slightly annoyed expression forced Harry to sit forward, assessing the options again.

"The green one."

He pointed to the dress held in my left hand. Boys really were oblivious. I wanted him to pick one, but not that one. Judging by the bewildered look on his face he was going to need a bit of help. I raised one of the hangers slightly higher giving him a smile as I wiggled it slightly. The material fluttered with the motion and I watched as it took Harry a second to catch on.

"Um, the dark blue one." He answered a little cautiously, seeming to realise that this was a situation between life or death. Or maybe just having to sleep on the sofa.

"Yes! This is the one I like also."

Harry grinned at me, smug with his guided decision.

"Good choice, styles." I pecked him on the cheek.

Harry watched as I undressed, his lustful gaze running down the length of my body, lovingly absorbing the exposed skin. I didn't feel a hundred percent comfortable with him looking at me like that while I tried to dress, but the embarrassment had lessened quite dramatically. His features fell into a frown as his eyes landed on my hip. His body rising from the mattress before he moved towards me, fingers lightly brushing over the bruised skin.

"I'm sorry I hurt you." He whispered, gently caressing the small marks with his thumb. "I promise it'll never happen again."

I believed him, the sincerity and honesty in his raspy voice did not go unnoticed by my ears. Although the marks didn't really bother me, I was glad to hear that he vowed never to let himself be consumed by the ominous darkness he held within.

"Thank you." I gave him a shy smile as he lightly pecked my lips.

Harry turned away, leaving me to finish getting dress while he went off to actually start. I wriggled the deep blue dress up over my hips, sliding the long sleeves up the length of my arms. It fit quite snuggly, the pretty martial hugged my figure nicely.

"Harry, could you please zip me up?"
I asked, awkwardly attempting to reach the zipper that was just out of my reach.

Harry's presence was felt behind me before his fingers even made contact with my skin. Hot puffs of breath fanned out over my neck as he pushed my hair to one side, letting it fall forward over my shoulder. His rough knuckles grazed my back as the zipper was gently pulled closed.

I smiled when his arms encircled my waist, curls tickling my cheek as his head dipped into my crook. Plump lips left wet kisses down the expanse of my neck, a soft moan fell from my mouth as he found my sweet spot, mouth beginning to gently suck. His actions caused my head to fall back on his shoulder, quiet whimpers filling the room as his lips sucked a little harder on my sensitive skin.

"You look beautiful." He mumbled against my neck.

Squirming in his hold, I managed to turn my body to face him, the expanse of my hands resting on his shoulders. A smile spread across my face at the sight of his toned chest made visible to my eyes by the unbuttoned white shirt that hung from his strong torso. My fingers began to fumble with the buttons, doing them up one by one as he quietly watched.

"And you look very handsome." I returned the compliment. He looked stunning as usual in black jeans and a white button down shirt.

A quiet knock came from the door, my mother calling my name.

"Yeah?" I asked.

The door swung open, my small mother entering the room, her blonde hair swishing behind her. She smiled upon seeing Harry, pleased that I had decided to ask him along.

"I was just coming to ask you if Harry was coming, but his presence answers that question." She laughed.

"How are you, Harry?"

"Good thanks, how bout you." He replied as he collected his converse from the floor, sitting on the end of my bed as he laced them up.

"Wonderful." Mum smiled widely at him. "Are you two ready to go?"

I nodded my head, replying with a quick yes before collecting my phone and wallet from the dresser. When I looked back again mum had left and Harry was grabbing his black blazer from where it lay on the bed.

"I'll see you downstairs." He smiled, tossing the black material over his shoulder before exiting the room.

Quickly I found my pair of black wedges after doing them up, I quickly applied a few strokes of mascara and a little lipgloss before deciding I looked alright.

Curiosity sparked inside me as the sound of my mothers voice quietly speaking to Harry drifted to my ears as I walked down the hall. My once loud, blundering steps became quiet, agile ones as I strained to hear what was being exchanged.

"You've probably noticed, it's difficult not to, but Natalie took quite a substantial knock to the face recently." I held my breath waiting for her to continue the hushed conversation.

"She told me she slipped and fell into a pole whilst she was going on a run the other day, but I'm but sure that's the case."

I hadn't expected her to raise the issue with Harry. I had originally thought she had brought into the lie I gave her. I seriously hope she doesn't think he was the one who did it.

"I'm not doubting that you don't look after her, Harry. I'm just worried. You see more of her than I do, she's very independent and refuses to talk to me, so I was just wondering if you could keep an eye on her?"

Well I'm glad she doesn't think he beat me up.

"Of course I will. You don't need to worry. Natalie is safe with me." Harry replied.

"Thank you."

I continued my down the stairs, the conversation I was secretly listening in on now over. I clumsily made my way down the stairs, somehow making it to the bottom without falling over due to my slight unbalance caused by the wedged shoes covering my feet.

Harry appeared at bottom of the stairs, catching me around the waist to help steady me once I had reached the bottom step. I smiled at him gratefully.

"You look really pretty in that dress." He sweetly commented as I adjusted his slightly crooked collar, flattening it down against his chest. I smiled, pecking him lightly on the lips.

My cheeks flushed pink, taking a step back as I noticed my almost cooing mother over Harry's shoulder, observing our sweet exchange.

"Aren't you two just the cutest."

Before mum could say anything else to embarrass me, there was a knock at the door. My eyes darted to the door, confused to whom would be rapping their fists against the door. I watched as mum turned to pull the door open. My eyes widened in horror as the door swung back and the man came into view.
