Somewhere in Neverland | All Time Low *Completed*

16 year old Wendy Price isn't the prettiest or most popular girl in school. After being dragged to an All Time Low concert by her emo best friend Gemma, Wendy finds herself stuck in numerous unlikely situations with lead singer, Alex Gaskarth. But maybe Alex turned up for a reason? Maybe Alex can take Wendy to a place where anything is possible? Maybe he can take her to Neverland? Based on the All time Low song 'Somewhere in Neverland'. Contains slight mature content

It turned out the bathroom wasn't such a safe haven after all.

For starters, it was unisex (I mean, who has unisex bathrooms nowadays? well, at least there weren't many boys at the concert,) and also there were flat screen televisions showing the concert EVERYWHERE I looked.

I sighed and sat down against one of the black painted radiators, picking at my flaky blue nail-polish out of frustration, wondering pathetically when the concert was going to end.

"Wendy? Wendy, are you - there you are!" Gemma burst into the bathroom, thankfully alone. "Why are you in here all alone?"

"I... um... needed the bathroom?" Gemma rolled her eyes and gave me a look that said, "tell me the truth".

"Ok." I said, "I made eye-contact with one of the band members and now I'm too embarrassed to stay out there with my stupid boring clothes and my stupid boring face."

"You're face isn't boring!" she said. "it's... interesting."

"Thanks." I said sarcastically.

"Look, I've gotta go and see cousin Jack now. Come with me, he'd love to see you!"

"Okay." I said, standing. I did quite like Gemma's cousin Jack, he was cool.

Gemma lead us through a maze of hallways whilst the band were on a ten minute break, and I found myself quite out of breath by the time that we got to a small barrier where a big man in a uniform that clearly said "SECURITY" stood.

"I'm Gemma Barakat." Gemma said, "Jack's cousin."

"And why should I believe you?" said the man.

Gemma rolled her eyes. "JACK! COUSIN JACK!" She yelled.

Jack's head popped out from behind a wall. "Did you call me Gem?"

"Oh." said the security guard, fumbling around with the barrier. "Go right in, ladies."

Jack greeted me and Gemma with a hug, and I have to admit he smelt kinda good. Not too good, because he was sweating loads, but there was cologne mixed in and it smelt really manly.

"Haven't seen you in a while, cuz. Or you, Wendy." Jack said conversationally as he lead us to the band's lounge, and when we got there he collapsed onto a sofa next to - the fit guy who had looked in my eyes.

Wait, what was I saying? He wasn't fit, he was absurdly good looking, but I wasn't into him. Pshh. Of course I wasn't...

"Alex, this is my cousin Gemma and her best friend, Wendy."

Alex glanced at Gemma and nodded, then scrutinized me for what seemed like forever with those heavenly, hazelnut brown eyes. After what seemed like ages he said, "Yeah, nice to see you Gemma. Wendy."

I stared at my feet, blushing scarlet as Gemma accepted a hug from Alex. He stepped towards me and extended his arm, and I shook it. He gave me a funny look, but shook my hand back. Gemma burst out laughing.

"What?" I said, annoyed.

"He was going to hug you, but, whatever..." She laughed.

I let go of his hand. "Sorry."

He just shrugged and sat back down next to Jack.

All night, Gemma flirted with Alex (Gaskarth? was that his surname? I don't remember...) outrageously. I sat in the corner and drank my lemonade that Jack had gotten me half heartedly, wanting more than anything to be at home doing Trigonometry homework.

"So, Wendy, what kind of music do you like?" Alex asked, randomly about half an hour before they were going to leave.

"Um," I said, wanting to sound cool. "I kinda like classical." They all looked at me as though I was the craziest person on earth. "Joking," I said, "I like punk rock, obviously, I mean, why else would I be there?" I am a fail. A god damn fail.

"Oh, right, good," Alex laughed, "I was hoping you didn't, because that would be so lame." Jerk.

"Mmm."  I said, trying to blend into the background again.

When we were about to leave, Jack, Ryan and Zack all hugged me, but Alex grabbed my hand and shook it, looking into my eyes sarcastically. "Good day to you, Wendy." he said.

I looked around then mumbled, "and you, Peter."

"What?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing," I said, "bye Alex."

When I got home, I sat on my bed and cried.

I wasn't too sure why, but I did.

"Darling? Are you okay?" My mother said, walking into my room.#

"Y-yes." I sobbed. "I'm fine Mum."

"Do you want some dinner?"

"No thanks."

"What?" it was unlike me; I loved my food.

"I'm not hungry. I'd kind of like to be alone." I said.

"Oh - okay." she said, hurt. "Tell me if you want anything."

"Ok. Bye." I called as she left.

I turned on the tv and decided to watch one of my comfort movies. Some people had comfort food, some people felt comfort in their pets, but not I; I felt comfort in movies. Because I'm a weirdo.

I put on Peter Pan, one of my favourite movies as a kid ,because there was a character in it called Wendy who got to be young forever, and my name was Wendy and I always used to tell all my friends I was really cool and I knew Peter Pan myself. I hadn't watched it in ages, and it always warmed my heart, so I put it on.

I found myself crying by the end of it, at how Wendy had been shot down by the lost boys and how Peter had been in love with her. Sometimes this weird kind of thing happened to me when I watched films, where I couldn't tell anymore what was fiction and what was reality. This was one of those moments.

I fell asleep that night thinking about Wendy, Peter and Alex, fiction and reality a mixture in my head.
