Remember Your Promise -Complete-

“Remember when you left without saying goodbye?” he asked.
“Yes” I replied sadly, remembering it like it was yesterday.
“Promise me you’ll never do it again.”
“I promise”

13. Good Night

Aubrey’s POV:

It was getting late and KC and I were getting tired. It was around twelve in the morning but the boys were wide awake. Jetlag maybe? The boys offered for us to sleep in their room, me with Zayn and KC with Niall, but we decided not to. The boys brought blankets and pillows for us and we slept on the couches while the boys slept in their bedrooms. After the boys left to their rooms, KC and I decided to fall asleep. Except, I couldn’t fall asleep. I stared at the ceiling in the living room for about an hour. I just couldn’t fall asleep.                                                                                                                                                                                        1) Zayn kissed me, and that filled my head with wonderful thoughts of him                                                         2) It was dark, cold, and quiet and I’m not used to sleeping in that sort of environment                                           3) ZAYN FREAKIN’ KISSED ME, and it was great

I looked over at the other couch and saw KC sleeping peacefully, but it sucked for me. I decided to get up and walk around a bit, until I was sleepy. I went into the kitchen to pour myself some juice, maybe that’ll calm my nerves. As I was putting the juice back in the fridge, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I jumped in fright, closed the fridge and quickly spun around. Zayn. “Oh my gosh” I sighed in relief. “Did I scare you?” he asked with a smirk on his face, obviously knowing the answer. “Yeah, a little” I replied leaning back on the counter, grabbing my juice and taking a sip. “Sorry” he said, giggling. “Why are you down here, I thought you were asleep” I asked.

“I could ask you the same question”

“I couldn’t fall asleep”

“I thought you were tired?” he asked with confusion written all over his face.

“I guess I’ve just had a lot on my mind.” I say, taking another sip of the juice and setting it back down on the counter.

“Well, if you’re uncomfortable down here, you can always come in my bedroom”

I couldn’t speak. Of course I wanted to go up to Zayn’s room, I was sure of that. But I wasn’t sure of what would happen after I was in there. “Um, y-yeah, sure” I chocked out. He took my hand in his and led me upstairs to his room, forgetting about my juice. When we entered Zayn turned on his lamp on his bed-side table, and got under his covers. I followed. I tried to keep my distance from him but something was making me drift towards him. I was half asleep when I felt Zayn pull me closer to him by my waist. So close that I had no choice than to rest my head and hand on his chest, the top of my head in the crook of his neck, while he lay on his back. He reached over with his free arm and turned off his lamp. He then kissed the top of my head “Goodnight Aubrey” he said, resting his jaw on my head. “Night Zayn” I mumbled, wrapping my arm that once lay on his chest around his torso, holding him as he was holding me. Can someone say best night ever?

I woke up on the couch, frightened. It was dark. I had a horrible nightmare and couldn’t fall back asleep. Ugh, I shouldn’t have ever watched that movie. I look over to the other couch and Aubrey wasn’t there, which made me even more scared, knowing I was down here by myself. I’m terribly afraid of the dark and Aubrey knew that, why would she leave me? I needed someone right now. I left the living room and walked upstairs, completely terrified of what could just pop up. I ended up slowly opening Harry’s bedroom door, hoping that I didn’t wake him. I peeked my head inside; surprisingly he was still up and on his phone. The only light was the moonlight and the light from the screen of his iPhone. “Harry” I whispered softly, closing his door behind me. He lowered his phone “Karmen? What’s wrong?” he asked, sitting up and setting his phone on his side. “I’m scared” I said, playing with the hem of my large shirt, feeling like a five-year-old speaking to her dad. Even in the dim light from the moon, I could still see him smirking. “Alright, come here” he said, shifting over and making room for me. I walked to the side of his bed and crawled in. It was abnormally large just for one person. I faced away from him, having my back in his direction. I soon felt him come closer. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled my back into his chest. I felt the front of his body shield the back of mine. He rested his chin in the crook of my neck, the space where my neck and collarbone meet. His curly hair tickled my cheek and jaw. “You’re such a baby” he said jokingly. “You know I don’t like scary films, they frighten me” I snapped. “No need to be frightened, I’m right here” he said reassuringly. He had his arm around my waist and his hand resting on my stomach. I grabbed that hand and gently squeezed it, “Thank you” “You don’t have to thank me, just know that I’ll always be here for you.” “I know” I said. “Goodnight Harry” I added. “Goodnight Karmen.” After that, I slowly drifted into a deep and peaceful sleep.
