Remember Your Promise -Complete-

“Remember when you left without saying goodbye?” he asked.
“Yes” I replied sadly, remembering it like it was yesterday.
“Promise me you’ll never do it again.”
“I promise”

**KC and Aubrey are best friends and go to London to stay with KC's aunt and celebrate her 18th birthday. What happens when she runs in to an old friend? Does meeting him once again bring back her past sadness or clash with her happy future?**

“Remember when you left without saying goodbye?” he asked.

“Yes” I replied sadly, remembering it like it was yesterday.

“Promise me you’ll never do it again.”

                                                                                “I promise”

KC’s POV:

“WAKE UP!” Aubrey screamed in my ear, disturbing my peaceful sleep. “Mmm” I complained, “what time is it?” “Time for us to leave for London, so get up!” “Ok, Ok get out for I can get ready, I’ll be down in thirty.”

So, my names KC, it’s short for Karmen Carrs. I think it’s a girly name so I just shortened it. I live in southern California and I’m 17 years old, but not for long because I’M TURNING 18 IN ONE SHORT MONTH! I’m leaving for London (Doncaster to be exact) with my best friend, Aubrey. My mom decided that I should go there to experience a new culture, plus my aunt lived there and I really miss her.

I walk into the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror, I sigh. I have faded bruises and scars on my arms from years ago, they don’t want to leave, and they’re a painful reminder of my past. Luckily, you could only see them in good lighting. Lots of kids bullied me for being bi-racial, my dad is black and my mom is English. They beat me because I was different and it was hard for me to make friends back then.

Once I finished getting dressed, I said goodbye to my dad. My mom, Aubrey and I headed off to the airport. When we got there, Aubrey and I checked in our bags and said goodbye to my mom, then boarded the plane.

As I sat in my seat, I started thinking about the last time I was in England. I was only ten years old (in year four) when my parents sent me to Cheshire to live with my grandparents (mom’s parents) because my mom and dad were having their issues. That’s when the bullying started, I would cry everyday because people made fun of me. I only had three good friends that would comfort me when I was upset, Josie, Harry, and Adam. Tears started to flood my eyes as I thought about the friends I left in Cheshire when my grandparents decided to send me back because my parents’ issues were resolved. I was thirteen (year seven) when I left and I never got to say goodbye.

“You alright KC?” Aubrey asked as she noticed the tears streaming down my cheeks. “I’m fine” I lied “I was just thinking about how much fun this trip is going to be.” Gosh, I’m a terrible liar. Aubrey opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted when the flight attendant said “We will be landing in Doncaster, London in thirty minutes, please fasten your seat belts and get ready for landing”

How long have I been day dreaming?
