Twist In My Story

13. Dinner...Date?

November 17th

1 month and 3 days later:

Boxes are everywhere. This is going to drive me insane! I have to find a place soon. I start organizing them by putting a certain box in a certain area with other boxes. Why am I so OCD about this stuff? I hear Niall come in as I am moving a box from one side of the room to the other. The box suddenly becomes lighter and more gently put down.

"Why were you doing this by yourself?" Niall asks.

"I don't know. I just wanted to get it done."

"Get what done exactly? These boxes are fine where they are."

"I have to organize. It bothers me when it's scattered."

"Oookay then OCD cowgirl," he says.

I glare at him and he winks at me. That boy, sometimes.

"Shut up leprechaun."

After all the boxes are moved, Niall sits on the couch to watch whatever he watches and I decide go get something to eat, considering it is 9:30 at night and I haven't eaten dinner. I grab my purse and head towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Niall asks leaning his head back still sitting on the couch.

"I am going to get dinner. I'll be back soon."

I reach for the handle and Niall runs over and grabs my hand to stop me.

"What was that for?!" I exclaim.

"Wait for me. I am going with you!" he yells as he runs around the corner into the hallway.

As I wait for him, I try to slow my heart down. For one, he scared me. But then he touched my hand and I felt like a million sparks flew. Niall comes back with his phone and opens the door. He motions for me to go ahead of him, so I go out of the door first.

"Thank you Mr. Horan," I say in a posh tone.

Niall chuckles and we get into the elevator. We get outside and Niall decides to let me drive. That probably isn't a good idea. I am still getting used to which side they drive on.

We both get out of the car in one piece, thankfully. Niall made me go to a random restaurant that I don't even know the name of. And no, it's not Nando's. I would know. We walk in and someone guides us to a table. She hands me my menu as if she could care less, but when she gives Niall's to him, I am invisible.

"Thank you," Niall says as she hands him the menu.

"No problem at all," she replies. "I just love your accent."

She eyes him up and down, making me want to slap her.

"Umm, thanks." Niall gives her a small, quick smile and then goes to looking at the menu.

"I would recommend ordering this one," she says slowly as she points to the menu, getting up close and personal.

That's it. I can't take it anymore.

"Why don't you go flirt with someone else. I'm sure that guy over there won't mind," I say pointing to someone across the room.

I smile politely at her as she frowns at me, huffs, and walks off. Feeling satisfied, I start looking through the menu.

"What was that?" Niall asks while laughing.

"What was what?"

"Are you...jealous?"

Crap, he's on to me. He can't know I like him. I just want to say it!

I refrain from telling him and say, "No, I just want to have a conversation and a meal without any interruptions. It's nice that way."

"You are jealous," he says with a smile.

I can feel myself blushing. Ugh! I hate blushing.

"Am not!" I exclaim.

I hide my face with my menu as I look for something that sounds good. Niall tilts my menu back down so he can see me again.

"By the way, I think it's cute when you blush," he says.

I can feel myself blush even more and reply with, "Shut up."

She is so jealous. Her face is as red as a tomato too. She's so cute.

"Are you telling me what to do cowgirl?"

"Yep. I did tell you to get used to it," she says and winks.

Or at least tries to wink.

"You know you suck at winking, right?" I say as I wink back.

"I know, I know. Don't rub it in leprechaun."

We order our food and when the waitress brings our food out, she makes sure she tries to give it to me slowly and smiles at me.

"Here you go cutie," she says as she hands it to me.

"Um, thanks," I say in a tone trying to hint that I'm not interested.

She flashes me a smile and then it instantly disappears as she slams the plate down in front of Morgan. Morgan glares at her and the waitress smirks. Who does she think she is?

"Listen," I say. "You are being very rude to my girlfriend here."

The waitress's eyes widen and her face goes pale. Morgan's eyes are even wider.

"I-I'm so sorry. I didn't-"

"Even if you didn't know, it's still rude. Sorry love, but I'm not interested."

She nods and goes away. Morgan is still sitting there with her eyes wide and a slight blush on her face.

"Girlfriend?" she asks.

"Yeah, I thought it would get her to finally leave us alone," I say trying to save myself.

I honestly didn't think anything of it when I said that she was my girlfriend. I didn't mean to blow my cover. I'm so stupid.

"Oh," she says quietly.

We give each other a small smile and then go to eating. She seems a little down after I said that it was to get the waitress to leave us alone. Does she like me too? No, that can't be possible.
