Twist In My Story

21. Date Night

April 14th

A week has gone by and I can't believe it's getting that much closer to not seeing my leprechaun for months. Niall has decided to take me to dinner tonight, our first official date. That dinner with the whole waitress fiasco didn't count. Plus, we knew that we were just friends at that moment. I put on a fitted, coral dress that goes to the middle of my thighs and add some turquoise jewelry to dress it up and add more color. I also put on some turquoise heels I have recently found. I knew I would have a use for them. My hair is curled and my makeup is finally done. I go into the living room and Niall is sitting on the couch waiting for me. As soon as Niall sees me, he starts staring at me.

"What's wrong? This doesn't look good does it? I'll just go cha-"

Niall stops me midsentence, "No, don't change. Nothing's wrong. You just look...gorgeous."

Niall looks me up and down as I blush. Niall kisses me and we go out into the hallway. Niall holds my hand as we go down the elevator and to his car. Once we are in the car, he hands me a blindfold.

"Don't tell me I have to out this on," I say.

"Yep! The restaurant's a surprise. Plus, I know you will probably end up looking," he says as he chuckles.

I know he's right, so I put the blindfold on without messing up my hair. Every few minutes, I ask the most common question in a car:

"Are we there yet?"

"No, not yet."

A few minutes of silence.

"Are we there yet?"

"Be patient, love," Niall says as he chuckles.

A few more minutes of silence.

"Are we there yet?"

"No! Good gracious! We will be there in at least five minutes."

"Thank goodness!"

I really hate being blindfolded, but for Niall's sake I keep going along with it. I feel the car stop and hastily ask if I can take the blindfold off.

"Yes, cowgirl. Take it off."

I quickly take it off and shield my eyes from the instant light.

"Good gravy, that's bright!"

"Good gravy?" Niall questions.

"Yes, don't judge."

Niall holds his hands back in defense as I look back to the building. Niall has taken me to one of the most expensive restaurants in London. I am excited, but I don't want Niall to spend a ton on me.

"Niall, you didn't have to do this."

"Nope, I didn't. But I wanted to," he says as he smiles at me.

I smile back at him before I reach to open the passenger door. Niall stops me and I give him a look.

"Don't you want to eat?" I ask.

"Yes, but let me open the door."

Niall gets out and runs to my side. He opens the door and helps me out of the car.

"You're too sweet, leprechaun."

Niall wraps his arm around my waist and we walk into the restaurant. We get our reservation and take a seat. We have a waiter instead of a waitress today, thankfully. We order our dinner and take samples of each other's food.

"What does yours taste like?" Niall asks eyeing the food on my plate.

"Delicious! You can have a bite as long as I get a bite of yours."

This goes on the whole night, eating each other's dinner probably more than the one we ordered ourselves. After we are finished, we just sit and talk, no rush to go anywhere. After Niall telling me some very funny stories, he starts to look nervous.

"Niall, what is it?"

"Morgan?" he says seriously.

"Yes?" I say getting a little nervous myself.

He grabs my hand from across the table and gently squeezes it. I squeeze back, prompting him to continue.

"I don't want to scare you when I say this, but-"

Niall pauses and I start to get even more scared. What could he possibly tell me that could change what I think of him?

"Morgan, I love you."
