53. The Bet

“So,” I asked as I got into Louis car, “Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise.”

“Please?” I begged, but he just chuckled and shook his head. “Uggggg!” I groaned. “Well, at least I know that it’s not some place fancy, thank god.”

“Why do you think that?”

“You specifically told me not to get dressed up and just to wear something normal."

“Oh yeah, that might be a little bit of a clue.”

“So, guy guys are taking us somewhere?” I asked, changing that conversation.

“Yep.”

“Where?”

“Can’t tell you.”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s a surprise.”

“And that’s a reason because?”

“Where are you ladies taking us tonight?”

“I can’t tell you.”

“And why is that?”

“Because it’s a surprise,” I grumbled and crossed my arms.

“Exactly.”

“Well, you’re not aloud to propose to me on this trip, okay?”

“Nope,” he said and shook his head. “One of the main reasons that we’re going to where we’re going is for my proposal.”

When he said that, my eyes widened. I knew exactly where we were going because Harry had told me around a month ago. Disneyworld.

“And how are you going to ask me?”

“Can’t tell you.”

“Let me guess,” I said. “It’s a surprise?” he nodded.

A few minutes later he yelled, “We’re here!” and pulled the car into a parking space and jumped out.

I pulled my jacket tighter around myself as I stepped into the cold, and was surprised, yet relived, when I saw the place that we were eating at.

“A pub Louis? Really?” I asked with a small smile.

“I thought that you might like it since it’s normal and not super fancy.”

“I love it,” I told him and followed him inside.

We walked to the far corner and sat down. I looked around the pub and saw a few middle aged men drinking and three or four families, all with small children. That meant that Louis wasn’t going to get recognized, which was a very good thing.

“What would you like to eat?” Louis asked as I looked at the menu that way lying in the middle of the table.

“Well, it’s a pub, which means that there is probably good food here, so fish and chips, because those things are terrible in America.”

“And to drink?” he asked.

“Uhhhh, water?”

“Wanna beer or anything?” he questioned in a dead serious manner and I gave him and ‘are you shitting me?’ look.

“I can’t.”

“Why?”

I pointed at my stomach in response.

“Oh yeah, you’re pregnant aren’t you? I keep forgetting.”

“How?” I asked. “It’s pretty obvious that I’m pregnant, and they’re your kids.

And your point is?”

“Uggggg, just go and order,” I told him. As he stood up and started walking away, I remembered something. “And you can’t get anything alcoholic either.”

He turned around and looked at me in confusion. “Why not?”

“Go and order, and I’ll explain when you come back,” I replied and he turned back around and went to the bar to order.

A minute later, Louis set my water in front of me and sat down on the other side of the small table.

“Why can’t I get alcohol?”

“Meghan, Perrie and I have a bet going for tonight and you have to go into it completely sober.”

“A bet over what?”

“Over which of you guys are going to stay sober and which of you are going to get drunk.”

“What do you think?” he asked and I took a drink of my water before replying.

“I don’t know if I can tell you. I feel like it might influence what you do.”

He reached across the table and grabbed my hand. “I’m your boyfriend. You can tell me.”

“Okay, but you have to promise not to tell anyone.”

“I won’t.”

“Well, first of all I would just like to point that we have only been going out for about six hours, but back to the point. I believe that you, Zayn, Niall, Harry and Liam are going to get drunk, and none of you are  anywhere close to sober.”

“Why did you choose Liam? He almost never gets drunk.”

“It’ll all make since once we get there.”

When Louis and I arrived at the boys’ flat, it was 6:50. As soon as I walked through the door, Meghan grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs to my room.

She sat down on my bed and said, “You tell me everything that’s happened since this morning right now because I am very mad that I had to find out from Liam that you and Louis are dating!”

Hush women!” I replied as I sat down across from her.

“What happened?” she asked again.

“Louis came over this morning and we kissed and then talked over how he keeps proposing and how I’m not going to marry someone until I dated them for a while. So, then her asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes.”

“Yeek!” Meghan said in excitement and I gave her a look that said that I though that she was crazy.

“Then, he picked me up around an hour and a half ago and we went on our first date.”

“Where did you go? Was it fancy?”

“It was the nicest place that I’ve ever been to,” I lied. “When you walked in, there was a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling and all the waiter and waitresses had to wear suits or black dresses. And the whole entire menu was in French so I didn’t understand anything that it said. Then, when the waiter came over to take out orders, I was so confused about what he was saying. I almost died and went to heaven when I ate my meal because it was absolutely perfect. I just wish that I could go back in time and relive it because it was the most amazing date of my life.” When I was done talking, I let out a sigh.

“Really?” Meghan asked in aw of how amazing my date sounded.

I started laughing. “No! We just went to a pub and we both had fish and chips and we just talked about everything in life the entire time!”

“Oh,” Meghan said. “Good.  I was afraid for a second that I didn’t know you as well as I thought I did because the date that you described sound like the type of date that you would’ve hated.”

“It is! And Louis somehow know that I hate things like that.”

Meghan suddenly found her hands very interesting.

“Meghan,” I started, “Did you tell Louis were to take me on my date?”

“He may or may not have called me and I may or may not have told him how you were complain to me the other day about how much you’ve been craving pub food and that American ‘pub’ food just doesn’t taste the same. Also, I may or may not have mentioned the fact of how much you hate going to fancy places because you have to get dressed up and act mature.”

“This is why we’re best friends,” I said as I leaned forward and hugged her.

“I know,” she replied and hugged me back.

“Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we  going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going?” the boys kept consitintly asking as we drove to the strip club.

“Where are we going? Where are we going? Where are we going? Where ar-.” Meghan and Perrie cut them off at the same time.

Shut up!”

“Whe-,” Louis started again, but shut up as Meghan glared at him.

“Can you at least tell us how much farther?” Niall asked sweetly after a few minutes and I nodded.

“We’re almost there.”

“Just to make sure,” Liam started, “This isn’t going to involve us getting hurt or anything like that, is it?”

The girls and I laughed.

“Of course not,” Meghan replied. “I asked Paul if we cold do this and he was fine with it as long as Perrie and Brittany were fine with it too.”

“We’re here!” I announced as I pulled into the parking lot.

“Are you serious?” Zayn asked as he and the other boys stared at the building.

“Completely,” Perrie replied and everyone got out of the car.

“You guys are really serious about this, right?” Liam asked and Meghan went and put her arm around his waist.

“The girls and I just want you boys to have some fun,” she told him in a very innocent voice.

“I love you,” Harry said as he walked over to me and gave me a hug.

“Let go of me so we can get out of the cold,” I told him and shoved him off.

As we walked into the strip club, Louis came up to me with a smile plastered onto his face.

“I don’t know if this makes you the best girlfriend in the world, or the worst girlfriend in the world.”

“Well, I’m going to have to go with best girlfriend in the world. We have this place rented out for the next three hours, so go have fun.”

“I love you,” he said and gave me a quick kiss.

As he started walking away, I yelled, “Just not to much fun!” and he just turned around, gave me a double thumbs up, and kept walking.

“What did you two think again?” I asked Perrie and Meghan a few minutes later as we sat at the bar at the back of the small room.

“Drunk, Niall and Harry. Sober, Louis, Liam and Zayn,” Perrie said.

“Drunk, Harry, Louis, Zayn and Niall. Sober, Liam,” Meghan added.

“Think highly of your boyfriend, now don’t you?” I asked Meghan and she nodded.

“What was yours?” Perrie asked.

“Drunk, all of them.”

“So basically all of us think that Niall is going to get drunk?”

“He’s Irish. Of course he is.”

“What were we betting again?” Meghan asked.

“I don’t think that we ever really clarified that,” I said.

“What should it be over?”

“Just pride of knowing that we won?” Meghan suggested and Perrie and I laughed.

“No, to simple.”

“Losers has to watch gay porn,” Perrie announce and Meghan and I looked at her like she had just lost her mind. She blushed and said, “That’s what my friends and I used to bet over. It’s very disturbing to the losers and doesn’t involve money.”

Meghan and I looked at each other and came to an agreement.

“Okay.”

“Let the betting begin.”

“You’ve ruined my innocence,” Meghan said as she walked out of my room and shuddered.

“We never speech of this,” Perrie told me and I just laughed.

“I probably won’t tell anyone,” I reassured them. “Now we should probably get the boys to their beds.”

“Okay,” Meghan said and we all walked downstairs.

The boys were laying on the couch on one another.

Perrie went and got Zayn and Meghan went and got Liam, then they practically carried their boyfriends up the stairs. Instead of getting my boyfriend, I went helped my brother upstairs.

“You’re the best sister ever,” he mumbled as I opened his door and laid him on his bed.

“I know, now get some sleep.”

“Night night Britterz.”

“Night night Nialler,” I said and I closed the door.

When I walked back downstairs, Harry and Louis were still laying on the couch which meant that Perrie and Meghan were probably still with their boyfriends.

I went over to Louis who was slightly awake.

“Come on Louis," I said as I shook his shoulder. “Lets go upstairs.”

“I don’t want to move,” he complained.

“Well you don’t want to sleep on a couch, now do you?”

He lifted his head up slightly. “Ugggg,” he groaned and then he dropped his head back down onto the couch. “Just leave me here to die.”

“As much as I wish I could, I need to get you into your bed so you can get a good nights sleep.”

He then mumbled something that I couldn’t understand.

“I’m taking that as you want to get up,” I said and then grabbed his arm and pulled him off the couch.

“Awwwwww,” he groaned and I saw Harry smirk from where he was.

“Come on,” I told him. “Get up.”

“You get up.”

“That makes no since.”

“You make no since.”

Louis.”

“Brittany.”

“Get up.”

“No.”

“I refuse to let you sleep on the floor.”

“Just leave me here.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“Fine,” I said and started towards Harry.

“No wait,” Louis told me.

“Yes Lou?”

“Help me.”

“Okay,” I said and reached my arm towards him. He grabbed my hand and slowly pulled himself into a standing position. “Lets go upstairs.”

“But it’s so far away,” he complained.

“There only, like, sixteen stairs.”

“Eighteen,” he muttered and we slowly made our way up them.

“Night Louis,” I said as I laid him into his bed.

“Come and cuddle with me.”

“I would, but I still have to get Harry,” I told him.

“Fine, but then come and cuddle with me.”

“I will,” I said and I leaned down and gave him a kiss on his forehead.

When I got back downstairs, I saw Harry sitting on the couch with his eyes closed, so I went and sat by him.

“Time to go upstairs,” I told him and he stood up, grabbed my hand, and pulled me upstairs into his room.

“You didn’t get drunk, did you?” I asked and sat on his bed across from him.

“Not very. I wanted to enjoy my surroundings.”

“Well, you acting drunk got me out of watching gay porn,” I told him.

What?” he asked. “That’s what you guys bet over?”

“Yeah, and how did you know about the bet?”

“Louis told me.”

“Of course he did.”

“Did you have fun tonight?” he asked and I shrugged and nodded my head.

“The girls and I really enjoyed how Liam, Zayn and Louis would look at us awkwardly as they got lap dances.”

“Yeah, I saw you ladies laughing, but I also noticed something else.”

“What?”

“What’s wrong?”

“What do you mean?” I asked in confusion.

“You’ve been looked sad all night. All week in fact.”

“No I haven’t.”

“Yes, you have. What’s been bothering you?”

“Nothing,” I lied.

“Don’t lie.”

“I’m not,” I lied again.

“Stop it. Just tell me the truth.”

“I can’t.”

“Why not?” he asked.

“Because you wouldn’t understand,” I said and I felt my eyes start to fill with tears.

“Don’t cry,” he said and leaned forward and hugged me. “I didn’t mean to make you cry.”

“It’s not you, it’s just that I’m really emotional and all,” I sniffled.

“Just tell me what’s been bothering you.”

I pulled back from the hug and wiped my eyes.

“What if they’re not Louis babies?”

Harry got a look of confusion on his face as he thought of who else’s they could be, but when he figured it out he said, “Have you told him yet?”

“No,” I said and shook my head. “I don’t want to.”

“Why not?”

“He’ll look at me differently. He’ll think badly of me,” I said as tears rolled down my face. “I don’t want him to know. I don’t want him to ever know,” I sobbed and I put my face in my hands.

“Brittany,” Harry said softly, “It’ll all be okay. I promise you that it’ll all be okay.”

“Bu-.”

“Shhhhhh,” he hushed and wrapped both his arms around me. “It’ll all be okay,” he repeated.

“No it won’t,” I said into my hands.

“Think about it this way. There’s a fifty fifty chance that they’re not Louis’s, but there’s also a fifty fifty chance that they are his. Let’s think positively and try and believe that they’re his. If they aren’t, then you can just lie and say that you must’ve gotten drunk your first night America and slept with some random bloke. Or you could just tell him the truth. I’m sure that he’ll be understanding.”

I just shook my head and wiped my eyes. “I can’t tell him. I don’t ever want him to know.”

“Well, if you ever need anyone to talk to, I’m here,” he said and removed his arms from around me.

“Thanks Harry,” I said and got off his bed and started walking out of his room. “Good night,” I told him as I turned off the lights and shut his door.

“Night Britt,” he replied and I walked down the hall to Louis room.

“You wake?” I asked as I opened his door.

“You betcha, now come here,” he said and lifted up his covers.

I walked over and slid in in front of him and pulled the covers around us.

“Night lovely,” Louis whispered as he wrapped his arms around me.

“Night Louis."
