61. Meeting Stan

as stilling at home alone watching telly when my phone went off. I looked at the screen and whoever was calling me wasn’t in my contacts.

“Hello?” I said when I answered the phone.

“Brittany?” a strong Irish accent asked.

“Niall?”

“Can you come get me? I lost my car,” Niall slurred.

“Are you drunk?”

“Yeppers.”

“Okay, where are you?” I asked as I pushed myself off of the couch and walked upstairs to get Danny and then I headed towards the door.

“I’m in a pub.”

“That’s not very specific.”

“There’s a thing behind the bar that says ‘Jared’s’.”

“Niall, that’s about twenty minutes away,” I told him as I put a barley awake Danny in his car seat and got into my car. “Did anyone go to the bar with you?”

“Nope.”

“Really? None of the boys went with you after the signing?”

“Nope,” he repeated.

“Do you have any security with you?”

“Nope.”

“Really? Why not?”

“I wanted to be alone.”

“Please insert one pound for another five mintues.”

“Uggg, I don’t have any more coins,” Niall groaned.

“Where’s your phone?”

“In my car, and I can’t find it.”

“Okay, Niall, I’ll be there in about twenty minutes.”

“What should I do until then?”

“I don’t know, go and sit in the bathroom or something. Just try and not get recognized.”

“Okay, b-,” he said and the phone hung up.

When I walked into the pub carrying a sleeping baby, I saw why Niall chose this place. There were Irish flags and shamrocks everywhere.

As I looked around the semi crowed room, I didn’t see Niall anywhere, so I headed towards the bathrooms and knocked on the door.

“Niall?” I asked loudly and there was no response. After a few moments, I opened the door and I saw Niall sitting on the floor by the stalls with a beer bottle in his hand.

“Brittany,” he said and smiled when he saw me.

“Come on Niall, let’s get you out of here.”

“Help me get up,” he said and lifted one of his hands. I chuckled and walked over to him and pulled him up till he was standing.

“Let’s go,” I told him as I took the bottle from his hand and threw it in the trash can and walked out of the restrooms.

When we got to my car, Niall immediately fell asleep.

When I got back to the boy’s and I’s flat, it took me a few minutes to wake Niall up.

“I don’t wanna move,” Niall complained.

“You’re not sleeping in a car. Come on.”

“No.”

“I’ll order Nando’s for dinner tomorrow.”

“Fine,” he groaned and slowly got out of the car and walked into the house, not without tripping a few times.

I lead him into his room and laid him in his bed. As I walked out, Niall said, “Can I talk to you about something?”

“Sure, what is it,” I asked and walked over to his bed and sat on the edge.

“I’m in love.”

“With who?” I asked and I stoked his hair as he laid in his bed.

“Do you really want to know?” he asked drunkenly and I chuckled.

“You’re my brother, of course I want to know,” I replied.

“Promise not to tell anyone?”

“I promise.”

“I love Harry,” he mumbled and then started to snore quietly.

I sat there in shock for a few minutes before I shook my head and walked back downstairs. I sat on the couch and continued to watch telly, trying not to think about what Niall had said.

Around midnight, Liam walked through the door.

“I thought you were going to stay the dorms all night,” I said and he smiled tiredly.

“I would’ve, but guys aren’t allowed in them after eleven thirty, and Meghan and I aren’t ones for breaking rules.”

“Do you know where the rest of the boys are?”

“Stan’s here visiting his grandparents, so Louis went to see him, Harry’s at a party, Niall went to a pub I think, and Zayn went to visit Perrie.”

“Niall’s here actually. He called me about an hour ago because he lost his car.”

Liam chuckled. “Niall would do that.”

“I know.”

“Well, I’m going to go to bed, and you should do the same. I doubt the others are going to be back for a while.”

“I will soon, night Li,” I said to Liam as he walked up the stairs.

“Night Britt.”

When I woke up, Louis was laying in my bed with his arms warped around me and my head was resting on his chest. Since I didn’t want to wake him up by moving, I just laid there until he woke up. When he did, he flinched and I chuckled.

“My room still freaks you out, doesn’t it?” I asked and he nodded.

“I have no idea how you don’t get creeped out by the posters on your walls.”

“I’m used to it, but you need to remember that you and your friends were the ones who decorated this room.”

“I know,” he mumbled and then changed the topic. “So, where’s our baby girl going to sleep?”

“I don’t know,” I replied. “I haven’t really thought about that yet.”

“Yeah, well, I vote that you move into my room and we change your room into a nursery.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, but only if you’re okay with it,” he added quickly and I laughed.

“Of course I am,” I told him. “How was hanging with Stan?”

“Pretty awesome. I really want you to meet him.”

“Well, he’s my boyfriends’ best friends, so I think I should.”

“Would it be okay if three of us went out for dinner tonight?”

“Yeah, I think that’s a great idea.”

“Okay, I’ll call him later, but for now, I just want to cuddle,” he said and wrapped his arms tighter around me.

We got to the restaurant around seven and we walked to the back of the restaurant where Stan was sitting at the table waiting for us.

“Stan, Brittany. Brittany, Stan,” Louis said introducing the two of us as we sat down across the table from Stan.

“Hello,” I said and he stared me down for a minute before replying, but he kept staring and it was kind of creepy.

“So you’re the girl that my mate knocked up?” Stan asked and I was slightly taken aback by that so I chuckled nervously.

“Yeah, I guess I am.”

“What would you like to drink?” the male waiter asked as he walked up to the table.

“Water, please,” Louis said.

“Same,” I added.

“Same,” Stan said, barely moving his lips.

We sat there in silence, looking at our menus until the waiter came back without our waters and then took our orders on left again.

“Well I’m going to go to the bathroom,” Louis said and stood up. I glared at him as he walked away, leaving me with Stan.

I decided to do what Stan was doing, hoping it would make him stop, so I put my elbows on the table and rested my chin on my hands and stared at Stan.

After about ten seconds, he lifted one of his hands and slowly dipped them in his water and then flicked them at me.

I sat there in shock for a few seconds before I did the same back to him.

Two minutes later, Louis walks back to the table and see’s us practically throwing water at each other and laughing.

“What is going on here!” Louis yelled and Stan and I kept laughing.

“Mate, I like her,” Stan said. “She’s pretty cool.”

“Thanks,” I said, grabbing my napkin and dried off my face and arms, “You’re not that bad either.”

“So, do you like him?” Louis asked as the two of us going into his car and we headed home.

“Yeah, he’s a lot like you, but you’re more obnoxious.”

Louis put an offended look of his face. “I am not!”

“You so are, but the way you guys act, it’s like your personality twins.”

“We kind of are, and that’s why he’s one of my best friends.”

“Hey Louis,” I said, changing the subject, “Ummm, if any of the boys were gay, who do you think it would be, and would you be okay with it?”

Louis looked slightly shocked by my question. “Ummm, well, it would either be Niall or Harry since the rest of us are in a relationship, but yeah, I’d be okay with it as long as they didn’t kiss me or anything. Why do you ask?”

“No reason.”

“Brittany, there is a reason, now tell me it.”

“Promise not to tell anyone else?”

“Promise.”

“Okay, well, last night I had to go and pick Niall up from a pub because he was completely plastered, and when I put him to bed, he said that he was in love with someone. When I asked who, be made me promise not to tell anyone, and I’m breaking that promise right now, but he said Harry and then he fell asleep.”

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah.”

“I mean, I’ve always had my suspicions since he’s never really had a girlfriend, but Harry?”

“I know.”

“What makes Harry so special?”

“Well, he does have some pretty amazing curls.”

“But does that make him better than me? I mean, why doesn’t Niall have a crush on me? I’m hot!”

“So that’s where you’re taking this conversation?” I asked and Lou nodded.

“Yeah, so what if he’s gay. Does he not think I’m attractive? Am I not attractive enough for him

“I’m sure you are, but he probably doesn’t think of you that way since you’re dating his sister,” I said, reassuring Louis that he’s attractive to gay guys. “And you can always ask him after I talk with him.”

“When are you going to talk to him?”

“Soon probably, but not until after the baby is born because I’m like a ticking time bomb.”

“What do you mean?” Louis asked.

“I’m due May twelfth.”

“Okay?”

“It’s May second. I can pop any time.”

“Are you serious?” Louis said quickly.

“Yeah, so be ready to be at any time.”

“We should really finish the nursery.”

“At least all of my stuff is out of it and the room is painted.”

“Yeah, there’s not really that much to do, is there? Well, besides getting baby clothes, but we can always have the lads do that for us.”

“We are pretty much ready, aren’t we?” I asked and Louis nodded.

“We still need a name.”

“That doesn’t count. Well just know when we see her.”

“We’re going to be awesome parents, aren’t we?” Louis asked and I nodded.

“We’re going to the coolest parents ever,” I stated.

“And our baby is going to grow up to be awesome.”

“It’s going to be an epic child,” I agreed and Louis lifted up his hand for a high five, and I hit it. Then he grabbed my hand and held it.

“This is going to be great.”
