I contradict myself in everything I do, every poem I write, and every answer I give, They tell us our opinion matters. But, how can it if we live in a world that constantly changes? How can it when you feel like you are stuck in that world and you're always two steps behind the others? How can it when you feel like you're older, more mature, wiser, when you feel different from everyone around you? It matters because everyone's different in every way, shape, and form you can think of. Why should that limit us? We're all different. We shouldn't brought down because of it. Besides, doesn't being different, makes us all the same?

39. The Person I Hate

Taking pictures of your life,

Pretending everything's fine.

The mirror tells a lie,

I'm dying inside.

I was too smart,

I stopped trying so hard.

I got lower grades,

You started to like me.

I wasn't pretty enough,

I wore more makeup.

I painted my face everyday,

You liked me more.

I wasn't skinny enough,

I became skinnier,

Lost all the weight that you hate,

You loved me.

My hair wasn't right,

I had it dyed.

I used a can of hairspray a day,

You promised me you would stay.

We took our picture the other day,

To anyone else, we would look great.

To me,

I became the person I hate.

The mirror lied,

I broke them all.

The glass shattered,

Throughout the hall.

I raised my grades,

Wore no makeup,

Gained the weight,

Fixed my hair.

You promised me you would stay,

You loved me,

You liked me,

I became the person you hate.
