Intrusion: The World Upon Downside!

Why, why; why! Do I have to suffer something so paranormal? So unusual; it’s like earth is fighting back, yet now it is trying to redeem its true title. I feel like the balance between everyone has had a massive drop. The balance in humanity has lost against a stronger force. The final balance between civilizations has been lifted. Most of the natural disasters upon us are causing more destruction than ever before.
I have to sit here, day by day; watching the sun go down; yet to us, it is going up. The whole world is going up in a single spark; flames will erupt with corruption on earth. The world we once knew has become a hell hole; a dimension, a new planet has begun to grow from beneath us. Yet to us; it feels like it’s growing upon us. From above; the ground shakes, roars breaking down our trees. Separating us from each-other, leaving us with what the dinosaurs ended with.

2. The Balance Between Us

Chapter 2: The Balance between Us

Struggling to sleep; I could not even close my eyes properly. I felt like there was a barrier forcing my eyelids to stick. Keeping my awake for a horrible night; I don’t want to live knowing I am not safe. Yet father’s company did make me feel a little safer; without him, I wouldn't be here. I realized that in our small conversation earlier; he had always been there for me. Even mum too...

“Kick the god damn door down now!” A voice shouted; the sounds of people shouting. Horrible words were being called out; even screaming could be heard. I swear; I cannot sleep knowing there is a world of chaos outside our doors. It’s unfair on any of us; we are not all bandits! Explosions were going on outside; I heard a woman scream: “Let go of my baby! Please!” She must of been held back; her own son or daughter being taken away from her.

Just listening to this was enough to make feel queasy; it was enough to make me cry. Just after listening to a mother shout for her baby; I heard a gunshot, along with a loud explosion. The sound of them combined made me face fear once again. I wanted everyone; including bandits to be safe. Not attacking each other for food and water; we don’t need it! We can live with ourselves. All we need if families; resources to keep us all happy.

After, I had felt the need to vomit; anything like this makes me sick. I stood up; moving towards to the bathroom. As I had stood up; I could see all the fire and humans who were destroying our world. I even watched petrol bombs being thrown at high speeds; most of it landed. Some of it collided with innocent bandits; killing them in the process of ruining families and happiness. It was difficult to make out what they were wearing; I could only see beanie hats and hoods.

Most of them looked around teenager age; yet I saw many adults too. Even young children were kicking down windows; smashing car mirrors; it was insane. What has this world come too... most of the noise was a distance; yet the fires were closer. Before, I could even relax; or decide whether I need to vomit. Footsteps were heard outside our apartment; father and I had to move to an apartment with our budget we had left. It was the only houses that weren't severely damaged.

“Hey Joey, this apartment is still locked; I thought we looted all of this?” I heard someone’s voice. It sounded like a male; yet his voice was more of a young junior’s age. Around maybe ten to eleven. I kept my eyes open; knowing that we may be attacked. I felt the need to alert dad; I had to tell him that our apartment is under cease; there is a possibility of us being hurt or killed...

The voices got closer; I could now hear louder footsteps, then I heard a loud knock. “Open this damn door!” A youngster had shouted; I tried to make it sound like no-one is home; yet it just made them more curious. Instead of escaping the apartment I ran to dad’s bedroom. I needed to tell him the news, before it was too late! “Joey, maybe no-one is in there!” That voice was loud, not as loud as before; since I was now away from the entrance. I quietly closed dad’s bedroom door; keeping us safe, along with at a suitable distance.

“Na Kieran, you don’t say! Kick the door down, I'm sick of waiting for idiots” a voice shouted. Then loud noises were heard; sounds of heavy shoes or trainers booting a door. The noises didn't just cause furniture to fall over; it caused the rooms to shake. They were kicking it constantly; not even waiting for them to regain strength. They had just been so curious and mental enough to break into other people’s homes. How can they do such a dreadful thing...?

“Dad, psssss; dad, you need to wake up; please” I whispered; slowly nudging dad to wake up.

The silence in dad’s room was so scary; I could not take the fear that was inside of me. Most of the kids may have left the door alone; yet I could still hear someone thumping the door.  The voices were also still heard; I could hear them discussing some kind of plan of some sort.

“S-son” Father whispered, while opening his eyes slowly.

“Dad, we need to get out of here; our home is danger; we are in danger” I whispered bravely.

He nodded; then he realized that the door was being beaten down; before we could even move out of the room. We heard the door colliding with the floor; even a part of metal had landed on the floor too. We heard metal colliding, so it made sense if it was the screws.

“Joey, it’s open; whoever the heck lives”, “shut up! Just look around the place!”

Judging from the voices; I had only heard one name be called out so far; “Joey”, well at least we knew one of their names. It would help us discover a lot more about these jerks. Dad held my hand; keeping me safe, whispering to me; reassuring me that we are going to be safe.

“Na, no way; Joey this place has a high definition TV!” A voice shouted; sounded like a child.

“Cool, loot it, take it out of here; I'm going to check the rooms”, Joey replied.

The footsteps were heard all around our apartment. I was not entirely sure how many kids or teens were in our home. It sounded like two; yet the footsteps made no sense, it sounded like a lot more than two!
