15. Gabriel Part 1

When I woke up Trevor's arm was still around me and he was sleeping soundly. Perfect. I slid out of his grasp and tiptoed into my room to get dressed. I put on the gear that Zander gave me and I grabbed the bow and sword and made sure that everything was snug. I grabbed my bag and walked out and into the kitchen. I grabbed some snacks to last me awhile and I filled a water bottle with water. I went back into my room and grabbed my notebook and a pencil. I walked back out and flipped it open to a blank page where I wrote Trevor a note:

I'm sorry that you have to find this.

By the time you read this I will be on my way to find Gabriel.

I know that you said it would be fine but I have a bad feeling it

won't. I just need to be sure everything is ok. I will be fine Gabriel

wouldn't hurt me. Please don't come after me.

I love you so much Trevor.

I hurt writing that, I felt like my heart was torn in half as I left it there and left. I opened my wings and took off toward where the sun was rising. I flew for a few good hours until I landed on the top of a tree. I had no idea where I was  going or where I could find him. He could be anywhere on Pandora right now. I slid down onto a branch and laid there for a little bit. He would go somewhere warm and that was a familiar place or a memory for him. I let my mind go blank and I tried to contact him.

Gabriel. Where are you? I need to talk to you. I said to him into his mind. I waited fir awhile, Taking a stick of beef jerky our of my bag and munching in it.

Are you alone? Relief filled me and I let out a long sigh.

Yes I am alone. Where are you?

Do you remember your place of creation?

No. Not really anyways.

Sensing where your are now you are heading in the right direction. You should hit a prairie and then mountains. The volcano is in the middle of them it should be the biggest mountain there with the flat top. It will take about a day and a half to get to. I will be waiting. And expecting that you will be Alone. He said back to me. I didn't need to respond for him to sense me rolling my eyes. I got back up and flew from around when the sun was peaked in the sky till it started setting. I was exhausted and I felt like my wings would give out at any second. I landed near where Gabriel was staying. I was still about 10 miles from where I knew it would be. I settled down into a nook in the tree and tried to sleep. As I closed my eyes I thought about Trevor and how he was looking for me now. I felt bad that I had left like that but this was something I had to do. Falling asleep I opened my eyes to a dream I've never had before. I was laying on a small bed. I couldn't move my hand or legs. I looked down to see that I was smaller like when I was just created. Trevor was sitting by the bed playing a video game. Gabriel walked in and Trevor paused the game, obviously irritated that Gabriel interrupted him.

"My turn to watch her." Gabriel said to Trevor. Trevor stood up and moved toward the door.

"Try not to wake her. Her cold hasn't gotten better and I don't want her being in more pain than she needs to." Trevor said walking out of the room.

"Whatever." Gabriel muttered under his breath. "He's gotten so bossy about Hailee." Gabriel said pulling the chair up next to the bed and resting his head on the back of it. "One day Hailee, It'll just be you and me. I promise. I would be a way better bond with you then he would." His voice got harsh and his eyes flared a little. "All he does is get in the way!" He said his anger shooting flames down his arms and his eyes flamed. Only this wasn't his usual color it was black. Like the darkness inside of me. I went from his hands and went into my fingertips. Making its way up through my arms and into my soul. My body tensed and it felt like I was being burned from the inside out. I let out a shriek and Gabriel flew back, knocking the chair over. His eyes got wide and the realization of what had happened paled his face. "No.... no no no. I never meant for this to happen. I'm so sorry Hailee." As he finished Trevor stormed into the room, eyes wide with worry.

"What happened?! What did you do?!" He turned his eyes blazing like he was going to kill Gabriel.

"Nothing! She just started screaming. She could've had a bad dream or the pain got worse." Gabriel said to him. Trevor looked down,

"Then why is the chair on the floor." Trevor gestured to the floor.

"Well she screamed pretty loud Trevor it's not like it didn't scare me." Gabriel said, his words venomously. Trevor narrowed his eyes at Gabriel.

"Whatever. I'm still not leaving this room. I decided I don't need a break." Trevor said pushing out the door which Gabriel tried to resist but Trevor got him out the door. I woke up with the moon setting and I had cold sweat running down my forehead. I wished I could say that the dream didn't feel like a lost memory. But I couldn't. All I knew was I had to find Gabriel and now I had to things to confront him about
