Guilty Pleasures

Alice 'Al' Clarkson is just a regular teenage girl, that is until her mum goes missing. Her dad finds out her mum has secret and leaves Al to fend for herself, that is until a (not so strange) stranger breaks down outside her house, and doesn't have the number for a garage. One knock, on one door and 2 people's lives change, for the better? Perhaps. But what happens when Al becomes best friends with Louis and Harry gets jealous. Will friendships stay friendships, when relationships get serious?

I picked up my hairdryer from my dressing table and walked downstairs, to where the big mirror is. I plugged it in and turned it on, about half of my hair was dry, and then there was a knock at the door. I switched the hairdryer off and skipped to open then door, I felt happy this morning, I don't know why, but I was buzzing. I opened my front door and was met with a mop of curls, green eyes, and and cheesy grin,
"Hello Miss, erm do you know of any garages nearby that I can call, my car has broken down?" he said politely.

3. Mechanical Needs

5 months passed, and dad hadn’t come back once, but I’m surviving, I didn’t want to use the money he left, just in case there was an emergency and I might need it; so I got a job at the pub down the road - waitressing. I work 28 hours a week at a wage of £7 an hour, so I’m doing okay for myself.

I heard my alarm going off, it's a Saturday, so I start work at 11, it's 8 o'clock right now, I jumped out of bed and headed for the shower, grabbing my towel on the way. I climbed in to the shower cubicle and turned it on, letting the steaming hot water run down my body. I washed my hair, and body, then decided that since today was a nice day, I'd wear shorts so I'd have to shave my legs. I turned the shower off and climbed out, I dried myself and then wrapped the towel around me, stepping out of the bathroom and heading for my bedroom. Even though my parents' room was bigger, and I hadn't seen either of them for 5 months, I still decided to stay in my own (smaller) room. I ran across the landing and straight into my bedroom, heading for my wardrobe, I pulled open the drawer, pulling out my favourite pair of checked, black and grey dress shorts, and some tights. I opened my wardrobe door to find my work shirt hung up, I pulled it off of the coat hanger and put it on the bed along with the other stuff I'd just got out. I headed toward my smaller set of drawers and pulled out knickers and a matching bra. I walked back towards my bed, dropping the towel and putting my underwear on. I picked up my tights and pulled them up my legs slowly, ensuring that i didn't ladder them. I picked up my shorts next and put them on, then I grabbed my shirt, and put it on.

I answered immediately, not wanting to stare and sound awkward,

"Err, of course, I'll get the phone book." I smiled at him.

"Thank you so much." he answered gratefully. I turned around and walked down the short corridor to the large kitchen and towards the island in the middle where the phone book was kept. As I picked it up, a business card fell out:

Timothy Motors

54 Brook Street,

Leeds.

01133 578997

I picked it up and carried it, and the phone book, back to the front door where I had left the green-eyed boy.

"Here you go," I said as I passed him the phone book. "There's this too, it's where my dad used to take his car, it's reliable and all the staff are very friendly." I added, handing him the card.

"Thank you, so so much, you've saved me! Any chance I can get your name? I'm Harry by the way, Harry Styles." He smiled smugly.

"Oh, I know who you are," he laughed at me, "my name's Alice, Alice Clarkson. But my friends call me Al." I told him, with a friendly smile.

"Ahh, well it was nice to meet you Al." He winked at me.

"Oh and, when you ring the garage, tell them that you're Ally's friend, they might do it on the cheap if they know that I was the one who told you about them." I winked back.

"Oh, well thanks very much." He grinned at me. He turned around to start walking away.

"Hey, do you want to make the phone call inside? You can have a cup of tea whilst you wait for the toe-truck?" I called after him. He turned around with the same grin, still plastered on his face.

"I would love to, Al." He answered gratefully.
