11. Target Discovered

"Where is he? Where's my Ron-Ron? Has he been asking for me?" Lavender demanded to know as she entered the hospital, quickly letting go of Arabella's hand and pushing her way past Dumbledore, Professor Snape, Professor Slughorn and Professor McGonagall. She then made her way to the hospital bed in which Ron lay. Hermione and Ginny Weasley were sat on chairs beside his bed and Harry stood close by. Arabella slowly walked past Dumbledore and the Professor's, giving them a slight smile before standing beside Harry, giving a warm smile to Hermione and Ginny, which they kindly returned.

"Is he okay?" Arabella whispered to Harry. Harry nodded and took Arabella;s hand in his, giving it a slight squeeze for comfort. Arabella let out a quiet sigh of relief before glancing to Lavender, whose eyes had now settled on Hermione. Hermione had not been speaking to Ronald for very obvious reason since he had started his relationship with Lavender Brown.

"What is she doing here?" Lavender asked, glaring at Hermione who had looked extremely annoyed ever since Lavender had entered the Hospital Wing. Hermione stood up and turned to Lavender, her arms by her side, her first clenched in anger although everyone knew Hermione was not the type to get into a brawl.

"I might ask you the same question!" Hermione snapped. Lavender shifted on her feet and raised her eyebrows.

"I happen to be his girlfriend!" Lavender pointed out.

"I happen to be his..friend." Hermione said with a small sigh.

Lavender rolled her eyes and shook her head, shifting on her feet yet again. "Oh, don't make me laugh. You haven't spoken in weeks! I suppose you want to make up with him now that he's all interesting!" Lavender said, her voice raised. Arabella sighed, bored of the argument already and lay her head on Harry's shoulder. Harry chucked quietly at her actions and lay his head lightly onto hers as they watched the drama unfold before them.

"He's been poisoned, you daft bimbo!" Hermione snapped. "And for the record, I've always found him interesting!" She added. Suddenly, everyone's attention turned to Ronald, who now seemed to be mumbling quietly in his sleep. Hermione quickly sat back down by his side, earning an eye roll from Lavender.

"See, he senses my presence." Lavender told Hermione smugly before turning her attention rightfully tol Ronald. "Don't worry, Ron-Ron. I'm here, I'm here." Lavender told him comfortingly as Ronald continued to mumble. Arabella's eyes widened a little as she began to make out was Ronald was actually saying and pressed her lips together into a tight straight line before glancing to Harry, who had heard exactly what Arabella had heard and chewed his bottom lip.

"Hermione.." Ronald mumbled one last time in a very clear voice. Arabella looked everywhere but at Lavender, not wanting to see the look on her friends face as her boyfriend muttered another gir's name in his sleep. But as much as Arabella liked Lavender, she had always thought that Ronald and Hermione belonged together, even though Ronald couldn't not see it. Arabella jumped a little as Lavender loudly burst into tears and pushed her way back through the professor's as she ran back out of the Hospita Wing. Arabella and Harry both exchanged worried glances before looking to Hermione, who sat on the bed next to Ronald and took his hands into hers to reassure him that she was there.

"Oh, to be young and to feel loves keen sting." Dumbledore said, breaking the slightly awkward silence. "Well, come on everybody. Mr Weasley is well tended." He added, smiling at Hermione before ushering everyone out of the Hospital Wing. Arabella smiled at Hermione, who rolled her eyes as she knew what everyone was thinking but then smiled, looking back down to Ronald. Harry and Arabella then left the Hospital Wing themselves and walked alongside each other as they head down the corridor to their next class together.

"What happened to Ron? I mean, I know he was poisoned but I just don't understand how." Arabella pryed in confusion, glancing to Harry. Harry shrugged and sighed

"I'm not entirely sure myself. But last night, Ron ate some chocolate that Ramilda Vane had put a love potion into, the chocolates were meant for me, but you know what Ron's like. So, obviously, Ron 'fell in love' with her." Harry began to explain. Arabella giggled a little and Harry smiled. "So I took Ron to Professor Slughorn as the potion was quite strong and he helped sort it out rather quickly. In celebration, Professor Slughorn opened a bottle of Mead and poured us all a glass -" Harry tried to continue but was cut off by Arabella, who gasped, figuring out the rest of the story for herself.

"You all had some? No one else was hurt, were they?" She asked. Harry shook his head.

"No, no one else. Ron drank his first and dropped to the floor which kind of sent out a clear signal that something in the bottle of Mead wasn't right, besides, we had to help Ron." Harry finished. Arabella nodded. "Professor Slughorn had bought the bottle of Mead in Hogsmeade was going to give it away as a gift. It's so unusual, I mean, someone must have poisoned it while it was in the castle. Professor Slughorn wouldn't have bought a poisoned bottle of Mead knowingly!" Harry exclaimed as Arabella nodded in agreement.

"That bottle was obviously intended for someone else." Arabella stared as herself and Harry walked along. She then chewed her bottom lip and glanced at Harry. "Harry, who did Professor Slughorn plan to give the bottle of Mead too?" She asked. "Because whoever he would have given it too, is obviously who it was intended for." She told him, putting the pieces together. Harry stopped in his tracks.

"What? No, why would anyone want to hurt him?" Harry asked himself as he glanced to the ground. Arabella frowned slightly and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hurt who, Harry?" She asked him softly. Harry looked up at her and sighed.

"Professor Dumbledore."
