Draco Malfoy is misunderstood and his attitude is second nature to him. He was raised to believe in blood purity, wealth and power. He’s a confused youth being influenced by his fathers past and current deeds but his best friend (and secret love) brings out the best in him and helps to keep him in line. But what happens when Draco is soon forced to let her go?

7. "I'm fine."

Draco quickly apparated back into the men's bathroom and quickly left. He wasted no time at all in getting back to Arabella. "Let's go." Draco told her, grabbing her arm and pulling her up and out of The Three Broomsticks. Arabella protested but Draco wouldn't hear of it, he didn't want to be in there when it happened. Once outside, he suddenly felt Arabella pull her arm roughly out of his grip. Draco turned to face her in annoyance but his face softened as she stood rubbing her arm, looking at him in confusion. Draco chewed his bottom lip, realising his grip had been too tight and that he had hurt her.

"What is wrong with you?! You nearly pulled my arm out it's socket!" Arabella exclaimed angrily. Draco sighed and walked towards her, pulling her into a hug and burying his face in his shoulder.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled. Arabella stood confused for a moment and sighed as her anger vanished. She never could stay angry with him. She slowly wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged back.

"Draco, what's wrong?" She asked him softly as they pulled out of the hug. Draco stared at her, her eyes full of worry and hurt. Draco sighed, he wanted to tell her but refused to get her involved in this.

"Nothing." He lied. "I'm fine." He lied again before pulling away from Arabella and walking ahead of her back towards Hogwarts. Arabella called after him in confused. She sounded hurt, which upset him as he knew he'd hurt her, physically as well as emotionally but he just wanted to be alone. He wanted to get back to the castle as soon as possible but Arabella knew there was something wrong, no matter how many times Draco chose to deny it, she wouldn't let it go. She would have kept him there until he had told her everything but he wouldn't let that happen. He couldn't let it happen.
