Dear Diary,

April fools!

I'm sorry that I haven't written in a while, but there are a lot of new things to tell you. For one thing, Thomas has been feeling better since Sunday. Another is that we got a letter from Father! We were all delighted that he wrote. He told us to behave for Thomas and that he wished me well on exams, if we were to get any. He said that he missed us all and that he will try to come home for a bit, which is very doubtful. I felt very proud of myself today from what the letter said. Snow has melted rapidly since the last time I wrote, and it is all muddy and warm out.

The third thing is that Tessah-Mae, Lindsay, Sayrah and I plan on going out to the forest for a picnic. Tessah-Mae invited Jason to come and he turned her down. Oh how Tessah-Mae was disappointed! Then she resigned from our picnic in the forest. Lindsay then couldn't come, for fear of Germans hiding in the forest. And Sayrah couldn't come then for fear of being attacked by a bear, coming out from hibernation. All silly excuses, I know. But I really wanted to get outside and away from my studies for just a couple of hours.

I shall tell you what happens, be sure of that.

With love,

Eva
