Right now I am dying and only one thing can save me. Belief. The belief in the fair folk, the belief in creatures like me.

3. One Life

"One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying."
Joan of Arc

I'm standing in the vast meadows of a human's garden. Each blade of grass rises above my hips.  Most people wouldn't be able to cope with everything practicably towering over them but I enjoy it.  It doesn't help that I'm used to the fact that everyone, everything, is taller, bigger then me.  Though not stronger though my life so far I have been strong, brave and courageous. Today I am getting married to the king of the fairies if I really am carrying a son I will bring him more support even among the rebels, the Spriggans.

My dress is made of leaves, petals, blades of grass found in the gardens around us.  It needs to be perfect in order to please my soon-to-be people as well as my soon-to-be husband. Other fairies can tell how nervous I am by the constant fluttering of my wings. If all goes well my the end of they day I will be married and giving birth to a hopefully fine and healthy son.

We only have one life so we might as well live it to the max. This is my day of doing that as much as I want to run away I hide I won't, I can't this is my duty.
