6. Chapter 6

He hates me.

He probably hates me so much that he wants to hunt me down, cut my head off and throw it in a pit of sharks, then rip my body apart, and throw it in a volcano. Violent? Yeah, I thought so.

I gripped my phone hard, trying to think of a nice reply to his text that meant a million things. His parents are dead….holy Jesus. Right now I wanted to find him and give him a big hug and allow him to murder me. I read my previous messages for him and I have never felt so guilty and embarrassed in my whole entire life. He seems like one of those guys who doesn’t like people to pity them. My hands started shaking and for a moment I decided to just forget about him, ignore him and just let it all pass and never talk to him again. I’m such a horrible person. I shook my head and decided to reply to him and send a very short text.

Me: I’m sorry…

Yes, that is the only thing I said. Pretty stupid, right? But I’m currently speechless and have nothing to say at all. My heart started to beat fast as I felt a vibration coming from my phone.

Him: I don’t need your pity

Me: I’m not only sorry for that. I’m also sorry for being such a bitch to you

Him: You seriously crossed the line you know

Me: I know. I’m very very very sorry. I’m the sorriest person the world has ever seen

Him: Hmmm….I want you to beg for your forgiveness >:)

I sighed in relief, and did a little happy dance that he’s not mad at me anymore.

Me: Will you, Chris (I don’t even know your last name), forgive this ugly nerd, Angel Harper?

Him: Beg for it, slave ;)

Me: Euwwwwwww. I’m not your sex slave *pukes*

Him: Psch, I already have a slave. Loads of them actually, all kept inside my dungeon ;)

Me: Well….that’s nice?

Him: You don’t even know, Mrs. Peach

Me: Mrs. Peach? What on earth?

Him: My new pet name for you cause you’re such a peachy girl.

Me: Haha. Whatever. Hmmm I’ll think of a pet name for you….

Him: Sexy. It’s perfect.

Me: Nah. Doesn’t suit you ;)

Him: You haven’t even seen me yet. If you knew what I look like…. you’d be drooling

Me: Drooling? Euw that’s gross. I know, I’ll call you whale.

Him: Whale? Seriously? You’re bad at pet names baby girl.

I was about to reply to his text about him calling me baby girl when my phone started ringing. I eyed it curiously when it was from an unknown number. I thought it was Chris but his number is different. I decided to just answer the call because it might be some chips factory telling me a won a life time supply of chips.

“Hello” I said in a business like tone.

 “Angel” said a manly voice.

No, not a chips factory. But I knew right away who was calling me and I have no idea if I should be happy or not.

“Jake,” I replied in an annoyed tone. “What do you want?”

“I’m coming over,” he said oh-so casually.

I ignored the butterflies in my stomach. “And why is that?”

“Math homework, duh.”

“Haha, no, you are not coming over,” I said then crossed my arms.

“Too bad, Harper, I already am,” he said then there was a loud knock on my door.

My eyes widened and my heart started beating fast. Immediately, I got out of bed and hid my phone under my pillow. Jake has never seen my room and there is no way he’s going to either, well, it’s because I have scattered paper everywhere with loads of my secrets written on them. Sometimes I get too lazy to dispose of them, and now I’m in deep trouble. If he finds out that I was the one who spread the rumors in middle school that when he was 5 years old, his mom made him wear a dress for Christmas because she thought he was a girl, he would kill me. This story is 100% true because I was walking by his house when I peeked in his window and saw him wearing a red dress and he was crying. How could his mom not know if her son is a girl or a boy? I laughed softly at the memory and then I heard another loud knock.

“I know you’re in there, Harper” he growled from outside.

I gritted my teeth in anger and walked to the door. Before opening it, I took a deep breath and fought the urge to grab my baseball bat and whack him in the head for disturbing my conversation with Chris. I opened the door and there he stood, leaning on my door frame, looking all sexy. His arms were crossed which made his white shirt lift up a little and gave me a view of his sexy V. His face had anger written all over on it and it made him look sexier in a way. His jeans hung low on his hips and his hair was sexy in a messy way. It looks so soft, I actually wanted to run my fingers through his hair, and I bet my life that it’s as soft as a pillow.

“Take a picture, it’ll last longer,” he said arrogantly.

I snapped out of my dirty thoughts and stuck my tongue out at him.

“Sorry, not worth it.”

He gave me a sexy smirk and pushed past me and went inside my room. I clenched my fists and walk behind him and suddenly he jumped on my bed and just laid there. I watched him as he laid on my bed like he owned it. Anger filled me and right now I wanted to drag him out of my bed and out the window. Suddenly, I remembered that I left my phone under the pillow. I haven’t replied to Chris yet and it has been minutes. I was just too scared to go near Jake right now. Awkward silence filled the room and I just stared at him waiting for him to say something because I was completely speechless. The fact that the most popular guy in school appears in my house late at night still scares me. What is happening in my life? Jake looked at me and gave me a confused look.

“What are you waiting for?” he asked annoyed.

“What do you want me to do?” I asked, masking his tone.

“My homework, duh. I thought you were smart,” he said then shook his head disapprovingly.

I took a deep breath and grabbed his backpack which was beside him on the bed. I dragged the surprisingly extremely light bag and dropped it on the floor beside my study table. I sat down on the turning chair and before I did anything, I turned around to see what Jake was doing and what I saw made my heart stop. Jake was leaning on my headboard with my phone on his hands, he was scrolling down and his face was extremely unreadable. Shit! He’s reading my messages with Chris! I stood up from the chair, ran to the bed and tackled Jake. Jake gasped in shock then he let go of my phone and I caught it immediately before it fell to the ground. I was straddling Jake, breathing fast with my phone on my hand. I took a deep breath and snapped my head towards Jake, giving him a death glare. He was staring back at me, but his arrogant self was gone and his face was hard and cold. He wasn’t giving anything away. What is going on with him? I looked deep in his eyes and that’s when I realized something wrong is happening here. Not because that I am currently straddling Jake but because he looked jealous. Was he jealous because Chris and I text a lot? I shook my head, dismissing the fact that Jake can be actually jealous of Chris and I.

“Why are you reading my messages?”

“Who is this Chris?” he snapped at me and he was now looking straight into my eyes. “He’s not from school.”

“None of your business, player,” I said annoyed then I stood up from the bed and walked back to the study table.

I placed my phone on the table beside my night-lamp. I sat down on the turning chair and sighed heavily. I reached down to get the stuff needed for the homework when suddenly Jake spoke up, but his voice was different…it was a hard and cold tone that I didn’t like at all.

“Don’t trust strangers, Angel. It will bring you no good.”

I decided to ignore his words and continue on with his homework. I looked down at the paper and realized that this was homework given to us weeks ago. I didn’t even bother to ask anymore. I looked back at Jake every now and then just to check if he’s rummaging through my stuff again. I finished all the homework in less than 5 minutes and I started to pack his things. I don’t even know why I’m allowing myself to be a slave to Jake and do his homework. Well I did hit him pretty hard with a car… I sighed when I finally finished everything. I turned off the mini lamp and stood up. I took a deep breath then turned around, expecting to see Jake sleeping on my bed, texting some whore but when I turned around I walk through something hard. Jake’s chest. I gasped in shock, then backed away from him. He was looking down at me, smirking widely but there was a bit of anger in his eyes. I gave him a wry smile and bit my lip. I looked down and that’s when I realized that he was holding a white paper on his left hand. Holy shit. I looked back up at him and my face was full of shock and fear. He found the paper and now I’m a dead man.  He raised the paper and gave me a wide but sarcastic smile. He opened the paper and read it aloud.

“Today I told the whole school that Jake’s mom thought he was a girl when he was 5 and I also told the school that his mom made him wear a red dress for Christmas,” he read aloud.

I finally had the courage to look him in the eyes. I gave him a tight smile and shrugged my shoulders, trying to think of an excuse. I swear I am in deep shit right now and he’s not gonna let this pass.

“You know, sometimes….shit happens and-“

My words were cut off when he took 2 steps forward and out of reflex I took two steps back. We kept going on and on until my back hit the wall of my room and right now I was cornered. I pushed my back against the wall as hard as I can. Once I gave up hope, I looked up at Jake and he was towering over me with a massive smirk on his face. His hand that was holding the paper on in the air, and he crumpled it then threw it away. This is it. I’m going to die and I know it. I haven’t even told Claire that I was the one who broke her old phone.

“Angel, Angel, Angel,” he said in a low and teasing voice. “What am I going to do with you?”

“Nothing?” I replied then I smiled widely at him, trying to hide my fear.

“Do you know, my friends teased me for about 2 months about that and cropped pictures of me with a red dress on” he said then winced slightly at the memory.

“Such wonderful friends you have” I said in a sarcastic tone.

He walked closer to me and now we were only about an inch apart. I swear I’m going to pee my pants soon because this guy is making me nervous and scared at the same time.

“Do you know what happens to bad girls, Angel?”

“No,” I replied with a shaky voice.

He gave me a grin and held my chin tightly with his hands. I fought the butterflies in my stomach because there was no time for that.

“Well, bad girls get punished.”

Ohhhh someone's in trouble >:) muhahaha
