27. Chapter 27

If I could, I would’ve killed myself right when I saw his bloodshot eyes. For some reason, after seeing him staring at me I had enough power to push Jake away from me. He fell backwards but maintaining his balance then he stared at me with shocked eyes and I shifted my eyes from his to Chris’ and back and forth. It was like it was just the three of us in this moment despite the many teachers and students gawking at us. I have never felt so guilty my whole entire life. Chris didn’t even move an inch and neither did I. He was just staring at me with disbelief. My mind was racing and that’s when I realized that it wasn’t my fault. It was Jake’s. I snapped my head to Jake’s and he was staring at me like I did something wrong. That’s it. He asked for it. I raised my right hand and slapped him very hard across the face, hard enough to produce a disturbing sound that echoed through the hallways. I heard someone gasp in shock a few meters away from us and all our heads turned to her and it was no other than Brittany, the most annoying girl in the universe. Oh of course.

“What the hell Jake?” she screamed, throwing her hands up in the air.

“Yeah, what the hell Jake?” I snarled at him as he stared at me with disbelief.

“Angel, I told you I had feelings for you and this is what you do to me?” he breathed out.

“I’m sorry Jake but it wont work out,” I replied with exasperation.

“How would you know? We haven’t even tried!” he said out loud with a bit of sadness in his voice.

“Because I have feelings for someone else,” I said proudly as I looked at the boy I loved that was standing a few feet away from me. He caught my eye and smiled back.

“Who is this guy?” Jake snarled.

“He’s different, he’s special…he’s something that will make you feel special, not just on the outside but on the inside as well”

Chris smirked at me and mouthed the three words that made my heart thump every time, I love you.

I mouthed the words back and suddenly Jake turned his head towards Chris. “You!”

“What about me?” Chris shot back as anger grew on his face.

Oh crap, a fight is the last thing we needed. I walked towards Chris and stood in front of him, facing Jake and shaking my head.

“You’re with this guy?” he spat at me. “He’s such an emo kid!”

“He’s not a fucking emo kid,” I shot back at Jake as I held Chris’ hand tight and he was running my thumb over the side of my hand. “He’s so much better than you arrogant jocks”

“Whatever,” Jake said as he threw his hands up in the air, turned around and walked away.

Right when Jake left the school, things started to get normal again with students walking and chatting around, etc. I turned towards Chris and smiled at him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my neck which made me blush.

“Let’s escape,” he whispered on my ear and all I was able to do was nod.

He smirked at me and grabbed my hand then pulled me towards the doors. I ignored all the people that were asking me questions and once before I entered his car, Chris gave me a light peck on my lips. I love this boy.

He turned on the car and he drove away, hand in hand with me and the music blasting. I was staring out at the window and if you told me a few months ago that my life would be like this in the future, I wouldn’t believe you on bit. I realized how special I was to have this boy by my side. I was staring at the bright sun which was staring to make me feel sleepy, I was closing my eyes and was about to drift off into a nice sleep until Chris tapped my shoulder.

“Angel?” he asked.

“Can I borrow your phone?” he asked with a bit of nervousness.

“Um sure,” I said as I handed him my phone.

He grabbed my phone and started typing a bunch of stuff that’s when I decided to go to sleep. A few minutes later, I felt something soft on my lips, I opened my eyes and was shocked to see Chris’ face. I smiled and he pulled away giving me a wink.

“Well that’s a new way of waking me up” I said as I stuck my tongue out.

“Like it?” he said as he opened the door and walked towards my door and opened it for me.

“Such a gentleman,” I said in a fake British accent.

He smirked at me and bowed. “Anything for milady,”

He grabbed my hand and slowly pulled me up and kissed the top of my hand. I laughed out loud, tip-toed and kissed his cheek. He smiled at me and pulled me towards the tree. I was staring at the beautiful sunset then suddenly he told me that he had to get something in the car. I nodded, not even looking at him because I was too mesmerized by the sunset. He left when I nodded then I decided to sit down in front of the tree and so I did. I was leaning on the trunk, staring at the sun as it rose down. My whole life I thought I would never find love because I was too involved with my life that I was too selfish to want to share it with others. A few minutes has passed and Chris hasn’t returned yet. I shrugged my shoulders and thought maybe he went to the bathroom. I started playing with the leaves when I started to get worried. About 20 minutes has passed and he still hasn’t retuned. I turned around and saw that the car wasn’t there anymore. What? I stood up and looked around, no sight of Chris anywhere. I walked towards the spot where the car was and looked left and right, there was no people or cars at all. I felt my heart starting to beat fast and I bit my lip. Did he leave me? Was this all just a joke again? A few minutes later after walking around and around I started to tear up. I knew I never should have fallen for him again. I knew I should’ve just let it go and not give him a chance. I was about to run back home when I felt a vibration on my front pocket. I pulled out my phone and saw that someone was calling me. The number was familiar but then the caller ID was different. The caller ID was really long and I wondered how it was even possible.

Angel Harper, you are my world and my universe. My heart is only half because the other is with you so will you complete me and be my girlfriend? – Chris :)
