Legend of the Magic Crystals

Legend tells of three crystals: blue(teleportation), yellow(knowledge and power) and red(longlivety). However, it was foretold that only one person would be able to reunite the crystals and when that day comes, there would be peace throughout the land.

In one small town, isolated from the rest of the world is where the story begins. Pandonium sets out on a journey to retrieve the red crystal and use its magic to cure Z of his amnesia.

3. Chapter Two - Ancient Temple

"Uncle, where are we going so early in the morning?" the boy ask his uncle, the blacksmith. The sky still dark from the time they set foot out of the town even until they are directly in front of the temple. The temple was old, made out of sand which withstood the harshness of weather conditions.

As they started walking inside, Pandonium's uncle sighed and turned towards him, taking a deep breath before he began: "I think it's time I come clean with you about something since you are old enough and you should have a right to know this. We found you abandoned at the old temple entrance crying loudly. You were so young then, like a new-born. We couldn't leave you there so we brought you into our small town. Pan, you aren't from this town but that doesn't mean much to any of us. We are a family now which is why I'm going to tell you this. Despite the fact that you come from somewhere else, where ever it may be, I know that you have the potential to do great things which even I could never have achieved. Promise me something, Pan, whatever you do, be it now or in the future, always stay true to your values, understand?" his uncle asked.

Pandonium was looking wide-eyed throughout at his uncle as his uncle spoke. Now, they just walk silently side by side as Pandonium's uncle allowed him to absorb all of the details which were so suddenly thrown at him.

"All right, we have reached the place." Pandonium's uncle said so suddenly, it made Pandonium jump a little. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you, Pan." Pandonium just shakes his head smiling indicating that he's fine. They made a final turn and were staring into a room, big enough only to fit five elephants at max and even then would seem a tight fit. The only thing that was obvious enough and could not be miss was something blue, at the far end of the room, in the middle of the wall. It wasn't only because it was blue that made it stand out, it was also because it was glowing and emitting a faint glow of light. This somehow represented him standing out from the rest of the townspeople.

They walk cautiously towards the crystal on the wall. As they reach the crystal, Pandonium realised that the crystal had the same dull navy blue with the one in his sword when in the hands of his uncle. All this while, his uncle had been walking close behind allowing Pandonium to reach the crystal and examine it first. Pandonium reach out his hand slowly and carefully towards the crystal. The crystal change to the bright sky blue colour where his fingers made contact with it. Pandonium then took out the crystal so easily, his uncle couldn't believe his eyes.

As soon as the crystal was out, the entire temple started to shake and tremble. Pandonium's uncle pulled him out of the way just before a boulder came crashing down where he was just standing. All around them, the walls were falling in, the ceiling was coming down. Pandonium and his uncle ran in the general direction of the exit, the path with which they took to get there with his uncle leading the way throughout. However, the exit had already been blocked and the falling ceiling and crumbling walls were reaching them. He looked up into his uncle's eyes and could see panic within. All of a sudden, with the blink of an eye, they were outside. They had to shield their eyes from the sudden sunlight.

"H..ho..how did we get out of there?" Pandonium ask, puzzled. They were now outside overlooking the temple as the last of it crumbles to the ground. Their town's entrance, just within a short walk away.

"That should be the work of the crystal you have in your hands there, Pan." Pandonium's uncle answered him slowly. If he had felt any panic earlier, he didn't feel any of it now. "You know the story I used to tell you when you were young? The one about the crystals?" Pandonium nodded slowly. "Well, this is one of the 3 crystals. The blue crystal. So..? How does it feel to be able to use the power of the blue crystal? Ahh.. That's not important. What is important is that it seems you have been given a task. A task to collect all the crystals." his uncle tells him as he look at the sky blue crystal glowing brightly in his hands. "Well, I have some things to take care of back in town so shall we head back?" his uncle asks although they were already heading back towards the town.
