Legend of the Magic Crystals

Legend tells of three crystals: blue(teleportation), yellow(knowledge and power) and red(longlivety). However, it was foretold that only one person would be able to reunite the crystals and when that day comes, there would be peace throughout the land.

In one small town, isolated from the rest of the world is where the story begins. Pandonium sets out on a journey to retrieve the red crystal and use its magic to cure Z of his amnesia.

29. Chapter Twenty-Eight - Bits of the Past

"They seem to know you." Pandonium starts, breaking the silence as they head towards The Prism. They have to get past the prism before they are able to reach Lacrosse city. They have travelled quite a distance with the wolf occasionally sniffing the air for the group of humans, walking in awkward silence. "Do you know who they are?" Pandonium questions without turning to face him.

"I may have an idea but let's not dwell on the past and focus on what's in front of us rather." Zymie answers. "How should we cross The Prism by the way? It will be heavily guarded." Zymie continues as The Prism slowly comes into view. "I'm thinking that there must be a way to get through if the group of humans went pass here, right?" Zymie ask for confirmation although no reply came thereafter. "Pan?" Pandonium, ignoring him as he continues to walk on with his back facing Zymie, he couldn't see the expression that he is giving out. Zymie fastens his pace to catch up with him. "Alright, What's wrong with you? What's with the silent treatment?" Pandonium stops in his tracks as soon as Zymie catches up to him. That in turn causes Zymie to stop, looking closely at Pandonium. Rave, Eternia and Hati stopping as well.

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?" Pandonium questions him back with much sarcasm in a fit of anger. "What's your relationship with them?"

"Not everyone's past consists of happy memories. My past for one isn't so pleasing that I would want to share it." Zymie answers sorrowfully thinking back with a sigh. "I travel around quite a lot in my past looking for treasures. Treasure hunters would be a nice way of calling us during our time. Those who were not as pleased with us doing this kind of stuff would call us thieves and a disturbance of the old world. Of course, that wouldn't stop us. One day, I was given an offer, I couldn't refuse. A hooded creature offered me a scroll and insrcibe in it were the crystals with the different type of powers that each of them holds. I look around for people who would want to join me in this quest to look for the crystals. Many of them thought I was going crazy but there were four who didn't. Thus, our team was formed and we set off, looking for the crystals. We were able to get our hands on the yellow crystal but it was at the expense of one of us. In the end, we had to retrieve the next crystal which we had located without her. However, we had underestimated the power of the crystal so much so that while we were trying to extract it, its powers somehow got activated and the four of them who were closest to the crystal at that time, vanishes, leaving only the yellow crystal in their place and my memories wiped clean from me. That was the power of the blue crystal. I lost everything and everyone I know that day." Zymie recalls sadly with both his hands covering his face.

"What happened to the yellow crystal?" Rave ask with interest. He was never interested in much conversations before now.

"I'm not sure. Now that you mention it, I never did know what happened to that crystal." Zymie answers removing his hands and looking directly at Rave.

"I may be able to answer that." Hati says and everyone turns to look at him, the one least likely to be joining their conversation. A man with black hair, skinny and a little shorter than Zymie stands at where Hati was earlier without a single piece of covering for his body. Eternia immediately look away instinctively while everyone looks on, Pandonium and Zymie's face filled with a shock expression. "What? I need to rest as well." Hati replies to their shock faces.

"At least put these on." Zymie says grabbing several of the huge leaves from the nearest tree before making it into something to cover him. "Have you no sense of decency?" Zymie ask putting it on for him.

"What is decency?" Hati ask sincerely. "We walk around our forest like this all the time." Hati tells them. Eternia shudders at the thought of it and continues to refrain herself from looking.

"Forget that! What happened to the crystal?" Rave ask raising his voice.

"Oh, right. About that." Hati replies timidly avoiding their gaze. "We may have overstepped our boundaries a little at that time and we found the yellow crystal. My brother, Ascena, took that crystal and left and when he came back, he was acting strangely, different from before. I never saw the yellow crystal after that." he answers. "Moving on." the wolf, no human, says and continue walking towards The Prism.

All of them, absorbing all the words on what was being said as they continue to move forward that none of them realise that they have arrive at their location until they are directly in front of the building, did they notice. It was no wonder as well since the entire place is deserted. The Prism was heavily damaged making it look rather rundown which seems like it may collapse at any moment.

"The war must have started. We need to hurry." Zymie says taking off towards Lacrosse city. By the time they reach the outskirts of the city, Pandonium, Eternia and Zymie were practically out of breath, taking in huge gulps of air. Hati had reverted back to being a wolf with its tongue sticking out of its mouth enjoying the fresh air. Rave look towards the city, studying it momentarily. The last time they were here, they had not taken the time to contemplate its surroundings. Things had been different then, simpler. There were not much changes to the mountain that lay towering on one side of the city gates. On the other, water that stretch out as far as the eye can see, into the horizon. The city itself remained the same as before apart from the drastic decrease in population going to and fro from the city.

"They might have been caught up in the war. There is no other way to get past the city other than to go through it." Rave observe.

"There." Pandonium pointed to a tiny group of four people entering the city taking everyone's attention with him and with everyone occupied by the current war, the four of them are able to enter the gates without any resistance. Pandonium wanted to rush forward but got hold back by Zymie with his hand on Pandonium's shoulder. "Don't hold me back." Pandonium shouts as he tries to shake free from Zymie's grip.

"Pan. We need a plan. We can't just rush in there. The four of them, they are humans so they can do that. No one will raise any suspicions towards them but not us. We will definitely raise a few questions as soon as we enter the gates." Zymie says calmly while tightening his grip, adding pressure to it, forcing Pandonium to relax his body and turn to face them.

"Tell me you have a plan." Eternia pleads.

"I have one but you are not going to like it. We go under." Zymie suggest.

"You're right. I hate that plan!" Eternia scowls before continuing: "Do you have any better ones?"

"The other way is to convince them that there is a much greater threat at stake here. With the black crystal, our enemies can raise the dead, the size of an entire army or more, which would pose as a threat to them as well. Although they might not be all that willing to listen to us." Zymie concludes.

"Now that's a plan. I might be able to think something up. Rave, you will head to the empress's palace. The empress will probably listen to you if you tell her." Eternia says.

"No. I have mentioned before that I am never going back there so you can forget about that plan." Rave replies stubbornly.

"That is our only option left. If you have any better ideas, please share. Otherwise, just carry out the plan." Pandonium rebutts back.

"Hmph." Rave replies with his head tilted towards the sky so that none of them were able to see what expression he was making.

"What about Calico?" Pandonium ask.

"Let me deal with my uncle. There are still some things I have yet to clarify with him." Eternia answers looking towards the city.

"I suppose there is no reason for me to stay on." Hati says which immediately gain the stares from everyone. "What?! What do I have to do to get away from you creatures?"

"As soon as your brother, Ascena, is within a few feet from us otherwise don't even think about leaving our sights. I have my eyes on you." Rave says as he glares at the wolf. After which, his attention goes to the city in front of them.

"We have to split up." Eternia says catching the attention of everyone. "I will look for my uncle while the rest of you will go for the empress."

"I'm coming with you." Pandonium says.

"No, you are not. There are some things that I have to do alone." Eternia says, rejecting his offer.

"I am not letting you do this alone. The last time we saw him, he tried to kill you. I am not losing you." Pandonium reasons. "I'm coming with you." he repeats with a softer tone. "No matter what." he adds in an even softer almost inaudible voice.

"He tried to kill you? Then I'm coming too." Zymie starts but was cut off soon after by another protest.

"Don't leave me with him. Who knows what he will do to me when we're alone." Hati protest. If  Rave did hear that, he make no attempt to show that he did as he continues to look towards the city with his arms cross in front of his chest.

"It looks like you two are on your own on this one. Be careful." Zymie cautions them before they say their goodbyes and part ways.

Pandonium and Eternia dashes towards the city gates with their hands clasped tightly together. They would have look like a couple running towards a certain future that they are destined for had they not been on this quest. This path that had been set for them from a long time ago.
