Legend of the Magic Crystals

Legend tells of three crystals: blue(teleportation), yellow(knowledge and power) and red(longlivety). However, it was foretold that only one person would be able to reunite the crystals and when that day comes, there would be peace throughout the land.

In one small town, isolated from the rest of the world is where the story begins. Pandonium sets out on a journey to retrieve the red crystal and use its magic to cure Z of his amnesia.

15. Chapter Fourteen - Lies and Deceit

"Get away from here." Eternia and Pandonium hears a hushed sad whisper just as they finish the history of Lacrosse city. Everything which Calico had mentioned had been true other than the part which Eternia was taken away as a little child. That seems to have been omitted from every record that they have in the library.

"Who's there?" Eternia ask the whisper which they heard. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you." she persuaded to whoever it was to appear.

"You won't. But he will." a child voice answered. It sounded afraid.

"If you're referring to me, I won't hurt you as well." Pandonium assures the child.

"Not you. Calico. He is a bad man. All is not as it seems in this kingdom." a bookshelf moved to reveal a hidden passageway. There in the passageway stood a female elf around the same age as Z. They have seen her around the kingdom a couple of times but it would only be for a split second. After which, when they look back at where she was, she would not be there. "I stayed hidden from everyone for almost 15 years now." she says.

"That was around the time when the war ended." Eternia proclaims.

"Someone's coming. I have to go." the female responded backing into the passageway as the bookshelf move back into place.

"Wait.." Eternia cries before the passageway closes off entirely but no sound came out. At that moment, Rave and Isengar came bursting into the room laughing about something which had happened to them earlier involving an embarrassed waitress. "Both of you. You scared her off. That could be my only way of finding out the truth about myself and you've ruined it by scaring her away. How could you?" Eternia was practically shouting at this point.

"Sorry." Isengar choked out. His face full of fear as he started to mumble to himself again.

"Whoever she was, it looks like she's back." Rave states. Everyone turned to where his eyes were fixated on. The female elf had indeed return. "Well, aren't you going to introduce us?" Rave ask turning to Pandonium and Eternia.

"We didn't manage to get that far." Eternia answers turning to the elven female: "My name is.."

"I know who all of you are. I just thought that Rave and Isengar was.. well... someone else. I am Vesperia and you Eternia, have to get away from here. Your uncle will try to kill you." Vesperia declares.

"My uncle wouldn't do that. He's a good man. You don't know what you're talking about. I've been with him the past 4 months." Eternia reasons.

"And I've seen him for the past 15 years." Vesperia says. "There's one more thing. Your uncle was the reason your parents are dead." Vesperia tells Eternia turning away from all of them.

"No. It can't be. You're lying. My parents are still out there and I will reunite with them one day." Eternia shouts.

"No, they're not and I can take you to their grave." Vesperia says calmly but with sadness. The grave was located in an isolated area in the city hidden by thick bushes so that only those looking for this place, will be able to find it.

"Why? Why did my uncle hid this from me?" Eternia couldn't hold back her tears any longer and they pour out from her dripping onto the ground which her parent's bodies lay underneath. She took off running towards the kingdom.

"I think she's going to do something rash. We have to stop her. "Rave says chasing after her with the rest of them. When they finally caught up with her, she was just outside the elves kingdom.

"Where are you going?" Pandonium ask Eternia stopping her in her tracks by grabbing her hand.

"I'm going to ask my uncle why he lied about my parents." Eternia replied angrily.

"I can't let you do that." Vesperia says. "If you ask him that, he'll know that it is I who told you about it and I can't have that. The best thing for you right now is to get away from here."

"No. I have to find out the truth behind my parent's deaths." Eternia tells her.

"Then I'll tell you." Calico appears from the main doors of the kingdom. He was grinning behind the frames which he had on. "Vesperia? Is that you? I thought you were dead. Where have you been all this time?" Calico's expression had change from grinning to shock.

"Don't give me that act. You killed unc.. Eternia's parents didn't you?" Vesperia accuses. "I saw you that day, talking to one of the human soldiers that attacked us. "

"No. You don't understand. That was because they mention that they have you and if I don't do what they say, then they'll have you killed." Calico recalls his past sadly. Then his expression changes dramatically. "But now that I've become ruler, I'm not about to give it up." Calico begins grinning again. "Only you stand in my way now, Eternia." Calico says as he began muttering some inaudible words.

"Father! Don't!" Vesperia says running towards Calico. She jumps in front of Calico just as his hands shot up pointing straight at Eternia. A blast of white light flew through the air and hit Vesperia in the stomach. She fell to the ground, hands clutching her stomach. Everyone ran to where she lay. Her breathing comes in slow rasp of breath.

"Vesperia. Why?" Calico asks regretting what he just did.

"I'm so.. sorry father." Vesperia says with much difficulty.

"Why are you apologizing to me? I should be the one to tell you that." Calico tells her.

"If you.. knew that.. I was still.. alive.., then you.. wouldn't.. have become.. how.. you are.. now.." Vesperia's breath was getting slower and slower.

"Hush now." Calico whispers to Vesperia. Eternia places her hand on Vesperia's stomach and begins chanting.

"Do you feel better?" Eternia ask.

"Thanks." her voice came out slow and her eye lid closes.

"Why isn't she drawing breath? Did you kill her?" Calico asks angrily.

"No. You did. All I did was take away the pain from her. The pain you cause." Eternia retaliates.

"Get out of my kingdom or I will have all of you executed." Calico shouts.

"Don't be unreasonable. Eternia would never cause your daughter to die." Pandonium shouted to Calico.

"It's all right, Pan. Let's just go. We've got to get the last crystal. That's what's important now." Eternia tells him.

"No." Pandonium tells Eternia before turning back to face Calico again. "Eternia have been so happy these last few months because she has finally found her family and what's more, this kingdom is hers, not yours. Yet, she's willing to just go when you demand for us to leave."

"Pan..." Eternia says softly to herself. Hot tears started falling from her eyes.

"If you really want us to go that badly, then fine. We'll go." Pandonium says turning and walking towards the city gates that leads to Alfield. "Come on." he tells them as he passes and they follow him walking away from Calico. Only Isengar took a last glance at Calico and when he did, Calico was still on his knees holding on to Vesperia.
