Legend of the Magic Crystals

Legend tells of three crystals: blue(teleportation), yellow(knowledge and power) and red(longlivety). However, it was foretold that only one person would be able to reunite the crystals and when that day comes, there would be peace throughout the land.

In one small town, isolated from the rest of the world is where the story begins. Pandonium sets out on a journey to retrieve the red crystal and use its magic to cure Z of his amnesia.

19. Chapter Eighteen - Plight of the Caledrians

The sun has yet to rise when the ground which they lay on begins to tremble. At first, it was hardly noticeable but the trembles got more and more violent as the time passes disturbing everyone from their rest.

"What's making that entire racket?" Eternia ask rubbing at her eyes before stretching and letting out a huge yawn. She quickly covers her mouth as she continues yawning when she realizes that their gaze falls to her. "Sorry." she says sleepily after her yawn.

"Salamanders! They are one nasty creature, I tell you. Their saliva is like glue infuses with acid so don't get too close. Fortunately for us, they can't climb trees so we're safe although they can dig underground which would leave us at a disadvantage." Requiem explains.

A glow of red light appears from within the forest surrounding them. From where they stand, they can see the entire forest and its nearby settlements. More glows of red light started appearing all around them on the ground below. The image look small but they can roughly make out its head and body.

"They look like they're on fire." Pandonium remarks.

"That's right. They are of the fire element." Requiem agrees. "Did I not mention that?"

"Won't they just burn down the trees?" Eternia ask.

"They can't. Our trees contain a built-in defence mechanism that is resistant to fire. Just ignore them. They'll pass. We'd avoid them if we can, know what I mean? But recently our trees seem to be getting weaker. I reckon it may have something to do with their acid and if we don't do something soon, all of us will lose our homes." Requiem explains.

"Sir. A word." another caledria stands at the door of the house.

"I'll be in a moment." he tells the caledria. "You'll have to excuse me. I have some personal matters to attend to." he says before flying off with the other caledria. It takes him an hour before he return but by then, the entire forest floor have been covered in a red glow.

"They don't seem to be leaving." Isengar says, not looking away from the red glow.

"Our meeting have come to an adjourn. We have decided its best for all of you to leave Trevian and never come back. It was concluded that you may be the reason as to why the salamanders are staying put and not leaving." Requiem explains the current situation.

"Hasn't this situation been on-going for quite a while now?" Pandonium demands.

"It has, hasn't it? However, none of them remained at an area for long periods of time. That is, until you creatures came along." he answers.

"Rave, could it be that your scent is attracting them?" Eternia asks.

"No, it doesn't work that way. Wait, how did you find out about my scent?" Rave asks.

"There is these smells that have been lingering around us ever since you came along so I just figured it came from you. Right guys?" Eternia wonders to the other two.

"No." Isengar answers bluntly.

"I don't smell anything." Pandonium replies.

"Strange, yet intriguing at the same time. So only the female species gets affected by it." Eternia concludes. "That makes sense."

"You need to leave this place like now. You know that, right?" he asks clapping his hands together. As soon as he does that, steps begin to appear from the side of the tree trunk all the way down to just slightly above the forest floor where the salamanders are unable to reach.

"All right already. We're leaving." Eternia says making her way towards the door. The rest of them following behind.

As they descend the stairs, more and more of the salamanders gathered at where they are, going around the tree with them.

"What's wrong with them?" Isengar whispers, staying as far away from the reptilians as possible while coming down the stairs.

"Wish I knew." Eternia answers. "They are following us." she added as they reach the final step that had been created for them.

"They don't seem that dangerous. I know, we can keep them as pets." Isengar says jumping off the final step where the salamanders clear a path.

"Are you crazy?" Eternia in a state of shock. "No. We can't keep them besides who knows what would happen if we bring them back with us to our time." Eternia reasons as Isengar looks up to them from where he stands. The rest of them jumping off from the final step and onto the forest ground.

"No. They won't burn us so just shut up. I'm guessing they'll make better company than you do." Isengar argues with himself.

"Eek!" Isengar screams as he spots a salamander crawling up his leg. Upon hearing the scream, all of the salamanders hurries to go underground other than the one that remain immobilized on Isengar’s leg. This causes the entire ground on which they stood to shake and vibrate as the ground below them move and shift according to the salamander's movement.
