Forever and Ever

Charlotte Burke is a normal seventeen year old girl. She lives near LA and is used to all the famous people flying in and out. After her father walked out on her and her mother, she was the one to take care of her mom and adopted sister, Annie. She never wanted anything more in life than her family's happiness.
Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall, and Zayn are anything but a normal boys. Being in a boy band was always an important and lucky part of their lives. By now they were used to all the girls: crazy and throwing themselves at them.
One lucky encounter could change everything for them both. Will Char be able to get over her grudge against pop stars? Will the band realize that by falling for Char music won't be the only important thing? Will they even be able to date with one of them being British and the other American?
Love always has it's ways of working, but it usually comes with a price..............

10. A Fight Breaks Out

Harry's POV
I rubbed her warm back, slowly. She had her hurt arm over my shoulder and was hugging me. I ran my hands over a slight indent in her skin. I traced it with my fingers. She moved slightly so I was able to see fully, it was a long narrow scar slanted up her left side.
"What happened?" I whispered.
"Something really really awful."
"You know you can trust me."
Char winced in my arms, "That's something he would've said."
"Who? Sean?" I asked.
"No... Someone much more terrifying." She cringed at the memory.
"Charlotte, I- I think I love you." I confessed.
Her body stiffened.
"No you don't. You don't even know me." She said quietly.
"Yes I do. Somehow I feel connected to you already." I argued.
"You. Don't. Know. Me." She repeated.
"I can if you let me." I swore.
"No. I need to go. I-I should get going." She stood up and pulled on a shirt.
"Char don't go!" I frowned.
"Thanks a billion for letting me stay here." She smiled weakly.
"Answer one thing please?" I begged.
"Why did you come to us over your friends?" I asked.
Char pulled her jacket on and reached for the door knob, hesitating before looking back at me.
"You are my friends." She said with a small smile. Then, she was gone.

Louis's POV
I heard quiet talking and assumed Harry was already up and hitting on my lady, so I quickly hopped up and ran out into the main room.
"Where is she?" I demanded. Harry was alone, standing like an idiot, watching the door.
"She's gone." He sighed.
"Just like that? What the fuck did you say to her?" I gasped.
"Me? Why the fuck do you think I would say anything to her that would make her leave?"
"You always fuck this up for me! She was perfect! You had no right to tell her off!" I yelled.
"I fuck it up for you? You screw up everything! But she loved me back you idiot! She knew she had feelings for me!" He screamed back. I couldn't handle him, I shoved him away and headed out the door into the lot hoping she was still here.
Harry of course had to ruin it, again. He grabbed me from behind and wrestled me to the ground. We punched and kicked at each other, getting nothing done. Just last night we both agreed this would never happen...

"Guys! Louis? Harry?" A voice called out. We froze and looked up, embarrassed.
"What the hell are you two doing?" Char laughed.
"Harry and I were just settling an argument." I shrugged, getting up and brushing myself off.
"Were you?" She rolled her eyes.
"Yes, we were." Harry agreed.
"Ah, I can see it's definitely over." She giggled.
"Yeah, cuz I won." Harry nodded.
"Ha! Not a chance." I smirked.
"I don't-"
"Guys. Whatever this is about I assume you can talk over politely with no fighting?" Char interrupted.
"Um... No promises." Harry and I said.
"Then I'm gonna have to stop both of you." She winked, stepping in between us and putting her hands on our chests.
"Why? It's our fight." I frowned.
"Because I care too much about you too to let you screw up your relationship over something probably really silly." She said.
Little did she know we were fighting over her.
"Ok, fight is off for now..." My eyes narrowed as I glared at Harry.
"I agree." He nodded.
"Good! Then how about we wake up the others and go get coffee or something?" She suggested.
"Ok... But I thought you were leaving." Harry said.
"I just needed time to settle my thoughts." She smiled weakly.
Harry put an arm around her and whispered something I couldn't hear into her ear.
"Alright Harry, think that's enough." She giggled nervously as Harry kissed her cheek.
I took her hand as Harry dropped his.
"Boys! We're going to get coffee!" She yelled once we were inside.
"And tea." Harry requested.
"Of course! Forgot y'all were from England." She smiled.
"Y'all?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I'm from South Carolina and I go down south a lot. It's what people say down there." She blushed.
"It's cute." I comforted her.
Char rolled her eyes and led us out to a small bakery down the street.
"So where are you from?" Zayn asked her.
"Technically I'm from Maine. But I moved to South Carolina when I was three, and then here when I was thirteen I think..." She bit her lip, trying to remember.
"Any reason to move? Father in the military or something?" Liam asked, sipping his tea.
"Um, no. Not exactly." She sighed.
"You don't have to tell us if you don't want to." I assured her.
"He left us. My mom and me." She said suddenly.
"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that." Harry frowned. We all comforted her with gentle pats on her back and small squeezes.
"It's fine. The guy left when I was ten but still has the gut to send me money each year." She snorted.
"So you don't like him?" Niall asked.
"Course she doesn't!" Harry punched his arm.
"Yeah, he's an asshole. Whimp of a man. We adopted Annie, my little sister, when I was thirteen. We moved to start over. Of course I went back down to South Carolina when I was a freshmen for awhile." She sighed sadly.
"Why?" I asked.
"I'd rather not talk about that now." She whispered, lightly holding her side.
"Sure honey, what do you want to talk about?" Liam grinned.
