The day he left...

I had a very strange dream the other night, which resultyed in my coming up with this little... Story.
I am not exactly sure where i9t is going or anything but I really felt I needed to write it.

It is about a girl, and her story of what happened to her brother who went missing when she was younger.

Im not a hundred percent sure what the rating should be as the theme may be a little "mature" later on... I am reallly not sure yet. So up to you I guess.

9. Lies

"Anything interesting been happening lately then?" Alice asked me.

It was Wednesday, the last night before the fair left, and I was eager to get back to it one last time before it left... As it happened though, I was currently struggling to remain polite and entertain Alice when I knew my time was dripping away.

I shook my head in answer to her question quickly, then looked away in case she could read my eyes.

Gran told me that people can see a lie in your eyes, that they can read it in the way your pupils dart around too much or focus on one thing. It was a trick she used to find out if me or Nathan were playing fair when we played cards together.

"Sure?" Alice probed, her voice sounding off, even to me. I turned to look at her for a fraction of a second, meeting her eye long enough to act innocent, but looking away quick enough to avoid being "read"

"Your mum said you have been enjoying going to the fair with Maria." she commented suddenly. I didn't reply.

"Have you?" She continued, as if she wanted me to confirm it.

"Yes." I replied, nodding at the same time.

Something flashed in her eyes as she let out a long breath I hadn't realised she was holding.

"You are lying Jodie." My breath hitched in my throat, and I turned my eyes away quickly, had she read them?!

But no, that wasn't it.

Maria was receiving counselling too, and Alice knew about my rides.
