The Movellas Interview Diary

I took this off and I'm putting it back up again (Nov, 2015). Enjoy! - Here you will find interviews with some of the most talented on Movellas. They will tell you about their likes, dislikes, favourite authors/books, weird talents, goals, ambitions, celebrity crushes and much more. Oh and they will also shed some light on the much debated and controversial question slash topic or whatever you wanna call it, that has been discussed since the dawn of man: is it okay to turn your underwear inside out so it can last a little longer... okay, maybe not that last one...

4. TheDramaLlama

BASIC INFO

Name: TheDramaLlama (real name Megan)
Age: 12 but apparently I look 15 (?) (Don't worry, people used to say I looked 12 when I was 16 :/)

Best piece of work on Movellas: At the moment, New Girl but Save You Tonight has potential, if we're counting fanfics ;)
Likes: Music (I'll listen to almost anything) Reading (I probably read too much) , Twilight, Once Upon A Time, FOOD, Llamas, doing nail art (?) the list goes on...
Dislikes: Creepy dolls/shop dummies/ weird wax models, *shudder* injections, certain people (You know who you are) and rain. The UK has way too much of that.
Favourite author: I have several and honestly can't choose between them- Karen McCombie, Stephenie Meyer, Sarah Webb and Cathy Cassidy
Books you recommend: Twilight (Stephenie Meyer), The Ally's World series (Karen McCombie) , the Amy Green series(Sarah Webb) and Angel Cake (Cathy Cassidy)
What makes me stop reading a book: I'm not really the sort of person to just stop reading something once I've started because you never know when something interesting might happen. But if the plot gets really boring or if the author tries to cram in too much emotional stuff I just give up. Also, there was a book I read once where I had to read the first chapter about 5 times for it to make sense- I just stopped at that point.

What makes you read a book more than once: If I read anything that really gets my emotions, I'll read that a few times. Or if I'm reading a series and haven't read the book before the one I'm reading for a while, I'll read it again and anything that brings back memories is good to re-read. If it's just a generally good book, that'll get a few reads before it goes to the charity shop for someone else to enjoy.
Do you have a weird talent: Erm... not as far as I know...

QUESTION TIME!

1. How did you come up with your username (did you meet a Llama is your drama class? Lame, I know but I couldn't help it)?

Yes. I did meet a Llama in my drama class - it's name is Larry.

2. What made you want to join the Movellas writing community?

I'm not sure actually. I think Vampiress found it and kind of forced our whole group of friends into joining. Then I wondered where it had been all my life.

3. What made you want to write in general?

I've always loved writing stories, even though I'm not exactly the best author. I can just pour out everything onto paper (umm or a computer screen...) and I love to make other people happy :)

4. Who is you literary idol?

I love Cathy Cassidy - she's just so down-to-earth and hasn't let fame go to her head, I love her style of writing too.

5. I see that you're a 1D fan, what is your view on the whole '1D fanfics are taking over' debate on this site?

As much as I love 1D and fanfics, I do think they're taking over. No offence to some of the authors, but the most popular movellas are all 1D fanfics and there are loads of brilliant stories out there that deserve to be there on the popular page. It's not the fact that they're fanfics that bothers me though- a lot of fanfics are badly written and follow the same sort of storylines.

6. What do you think is the difference between a GOOD story and a GREAT one?

Good stories make you keep reading. Great stories make you cry, laugh, want to kill certain characters. A great story makes you wish it would never end and you can't stop thinking about the story.

7. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring authors out there?
All you need is an idea. Once you have that, you could become the next J.K. Rowling and if it doesn't work out the first time, ask someone more experienced for feedback and try again! It takes a lot of hard work, but never give up on your dream. That sounded cheesy...

8. Being a newbie on Movellas is tough - what advice would you give to those who have just joined and are looking to really establish themselves on here like you have?
Read some stories first, see what other people have done, learn from their stories. Come up with an original idea, get writing and then advertise it as much as you can. Join a group, advertise on the mumbles page, find a forum where people are offering to read movellas or comment on someone else's mumbles. Get yourself known.

9. What is the best thing about writing?

I think the best thing is that you can write things you could never say, you can prove yourself and you can just escape this scary real world *shiver* for a while.

10. Writers block, do you think it exists?

No, because ideas are everywhere and I think writers block is just an excuse for lack of imagination (no offense meant here, sorry!)
