Books you recommend: At the moment it’s These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Megan Spooner. It’s really good and so interesting.

What makes you stop reading a book: When it gets really awkward…Or gory…Or if it can’t make me sleep at night.

What makes you read a book more than once: It has to have this certain pop about it. That’s why my favourite book is Coraline. It’s so weird and wacky yet cool and creepy. Just got to love them!

Do you have a weird talent: Weird talent, eh? Hmm…Not really no. I’m already weird enough. My eyes are different coloured and my hair is extremely long, (pass my butt and I want it to my knees…still a long way to go!)

QUESTION TIME!

Hi, how are you doing today?

I’m very content and tired because of all the assignment and exams that are happening.

When did you start writing and what made you want to write?

I’ve always loved books from way back…Like, WAY back. I never really thought of writing my own fiction until high school, but I loved stories. All sorts.

I started to write back when I was ten years old. It was a thing for English and we had to write something about space and I made up this thing where a girl and her dog had to save the entire world from mass destruction. It’s a really cool idea now that I think about it, (I might write it in a novel again), and the teacher thought it was really original.

Back in grade eight, I decided I wanted to write something because I was getting made fun of a lot. I did…But since I could neither get the actual plot going or my punctuation wasn’t that good at all, I gave up on it in tenth grade.

However, I am planning to come back with an idea so be prepared people!

I’ve always been average when it came with English and school but with writing, I’m a little different. The teachers love my ideas but they get confused. Nerveless, I love writing!

What made you want to join Movellas?

To be honest with you, I just needed another place to put all my works on so people can read them…Yeah, nothing special.

Have you ever had writers block? If so, how do you deal with it?

I’m having one right now because of the exams and assignments I have. The way I deal with it is to draw or read something that you wouldn’t usually read/draw. Reason being is because you have to expand your ideas, therefore a mixture of things is always the best.

What do you think is the difference between a good story and a great one?

Good stories you read it once, nod your head and place it back on the shelf for a rainy day.

A great story is something that you obsess with. With dog ears on the corners and pages that are well read and the feeling of just looking at the cover when you have been searching it for years and it makes you cry…That’s a great book.

Choose any one of the stories you've written or read on here... once you've done that, can you list a few actors/actresses who would play the characters if it was to be turned into a movie?

I do not know to be honest with you. The people I write just come from average people in everyday life.

What do you think is the best thing about writing?

The best thing about writing is that you can express yourself in a creative way. It proves that you have the ability to do anything your heart desires.

If you were to go to an isolated desert island for 9 months and could only take three and a half things – what would you take?

A water bottle and water cleaner/sterilizer, knife/gun and camping equipment. Simple enough.

What piece of advice would you give to aspiring authors around the world?

If you want to be something great, put your heart and mind to it. I can tell you right now that there will always be that one person that will piss you off because they are better than you. However, if you use will power, trust in yourself and always have the people you love around you, then maybe, just maybe, you’ll be one of the greats. After all, people don’t get naturally good overnight. It takes time, patients and a lot of practice.
