3. Pain

About an hour later, I finally had all my things, well neccesities that is, in a backpack and I was ready to leave.

Right as I opened my window, I heard my step-dad yell my name. My bedroom door slammed open and I didn't think twice before jumping out the window.

I let out a cry of pain as my legs hit the ground and my ankle twisted underneath me. I felt like I couldn't walk, but I couldn't make it this far and give up.

I tried running because I knew he would be coming out the front door, chasing after me as soon as he could get his lazy ass down the stairs.

At this point, adrenaline kicked in and the pain started receding. I started to run/hobble down the street, moving my legs as fast as I could.

I looked back every so often to see how far behind me he was. After running about three miles, I ended up in the park.

I used to love going to the park with my mom. We would swing together for hours. But that's over now.

Anyways, I sat down on a park bench and when I finally caught my breath, I looked down at my ankle. At this point, it was extremely swollen and a mixture of blue, black, and purple. Even the slightest touch brought me to tears.

The pain was unbearable, and I soon found myself drifting off into a place of darkness. I got dizzy, my eyesight unfocused, and I passed out on the park bench.

Nialls POV

What an amazing night! The fans loved our concert and we were so pumped, although it was 4 in the morning. To get some of or energy out, Louis suggested taking a walk to the park right across the road from our hotel.

"Sounds great, mate!" Harry said, and the rest of us agreed.

As we were walking through the park, Paul following behind us, we heard a loud scream. I know it's probably smart to run away from a scream like that, because it usually means danger is involved, but I felt the need to go see what was happening. Like some invisible object was pushing me towards the noise.

I ran towards the noise, and found a girl, sitting on a bench, having a nightmare. I carefully sat down next to her and went to wake her up.

As soon as my hand touched her shoulder, her eyes shot open, and anyone could see the pain, sadness, and fear in her eyes.

Anyone but me. Instead, I was absorbed by her beautiful, bright blue eyes.
