A cinderella story (Niall Horan version)

LUNA’S P.O.V.
“Shut up!” My stepmother screamed. She slapped me, and I yelped in pain. My two stepsisters snickered as I fell to the ground. There was a red mark where her hand had hit my cheek. Tears welled up in my eyes and I ran to my room, well more like a storage closet. I shut the door behind me and collapsed on my bed. The tears fell freely as I cradled my cheek. That was going to bruise.

My name is Luna, and I just turned nineteen. My mother died at childbirth, and my father passed away three weeks before my eighteenth birthday. That left me with my horrible, abusive stepmother who made me slave away while she pampered her two daughters and wasted all of the money in my father’s will that was supposed to be mine.

Even though I just turned nineteen, my mother only lets me leave the house to get groceries. She went into a lot of trouble to cut me off from the world, and it worked, I have no friends and no one to talk to but the old photograph of my dad and I before he married the witch called my stepmom.

“LUNA!” My stepmom screamed,

I ran down the stairs and hurried to her side. They were sunbathing by the pool in the backyard.

“Yes?” I said nervously

“We need more cucumbers for our eyes. Go get some, NOW.” She said not looking at me.

“Of course.” I said quietly.

‘Oh and Luna, be quick about it, I don’t want to be here all day.”

I rushed off, not wanting to upset my stepmother again. Since I didn’t have a driver’s license, I had to walk the five miles to the nearest super market. I started to walk thinking about all the things that had happened that day.

Last week, it was my birthday, and I had asked if I didn’t have to clean that day and could spend time doing what my stepsisters and stepmom do all day, absolutely nothing but playing. Of course this was a really bad idea, because she beat me senseless. I mentioned it again today, and of course you read what happened.

++++THIRTY MINUTES LATER++++

As I arrived at the super market, there was a huge mob. I hurried past them and ran into the store to get cucumbers. As I was picking out fresh cucumbers, someone brushed past me, making me drop all the groceries. As I turned to protest, they had gone to a different aisle.

I hurried along to the checkout stand and bought everything. I walked out of the store and fished my way out of the large crowd crowding the doors.

“Finally.” I said to myself as I made my way out of the crowd. I walked as fast as I could away from the store. I was already late and walk home was going to be another thirty to forty-five minutes away.

I was interrupted from my thoughts as someone crashed into me from behind, making me biff forward and spilling everything. As I was dusting off my hands, I heard a thick Irish accent say,

“I’m terribly sorry, miss, let me help you!”

A gorgeous dirty blonde knelt next to me and started picking up groceries. Snapping out of my trance I started picking up groceries. Once they were all picked up, I stood up and brushed the dirt from my knees. I looked up at the blonde and he was staring at me. He blushed and looked down.

“Is that all? Again, I’m terribly sorry. My name is Niall by the way.” He looked up at me. “I know this is sort of sudden, but are you going to the town party? Everyone is invited.”

He looked so hopeful with his enchanting blue eyes and every force on this planet wanted me to say yes, but of course my mother said that I couldn’t go, before I wasn’t terribly upset for not being able to go, but now that I know he is hosting it, I knew that I needed to go.

“I’m sorry, but I must be off.” I said, looking down. I picked up my bag and hurried off. I practically had to run if I wanted to get home on time. Oh boy, was I in trouble.
