Mummy, Where's Daddy?

Niall and I were just fine, meeting each other when I was 15 and he was 19. We fell in love, and I was completely smitten with him. But after one drunken night, four years after we met, six months dating, I fell pregnant. Niall walked out when he found out, couldn't cope with the pressure of being a dad at 23. Only 19, I was confused, hurt and upset. When I was at the 8-months mark, I pulled myself together and got on with life. Now Alexander is 3, and he's starting to ask questions. Will his daddy be back?

4. Getting Ready For Daddy

"Mummy!" Alex screamed, jumping on my bed. "What?!" I replied in a sleepy but annoyed tone, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. "I want to go to Westfields!" Alex shouted back, excitedly. "What for?" I question, yawning and stretching my arms. "I just wanted to get some new clothes and to buy sweets!" Alex cheered, his eyes sparkling. He was up to something, I knew it. "Okay, go on and get ready," I mumbled, gently pushing him off my now sore shins he was just jumping on. Alex gave me an innocent grin, just like Niall did when I caught him having a midnight snack. He ran out of my room and into his room, then I heard some banging and clattering, as usual because he sometimes opened his wardrobe too quickly so the doors would bang against the wall and knock some toys over. Looking over to where Alex left my laptop last night and I saw it was open and I checked the Internet history. 'One Direction next visit' Alex has typed. That's why he asked me how to spell Direction and visit. Should have known. I clicked on the link Alex visited and it told me that the lads were going to hang out at Westfields to meet fans. Alex was really that desperate to see his father?! He's a rubbish father! Slapping the laptop shut, I pondered if I should take Alex or not. "Ready mummy!" Alex's sweet voice echoed around my room and I turned to look at him. "You really do want to see daddy don't you?" I question, frowning. "Yes," he answers confidently, making me gasp. I wanted to see him too, tell him how much Alex has grown, and just to see Niall's lovely laugh. "Go downstairs and watch tv while I get ready," I mumbled, scooting him out of the room and he rushed downstairs, clearly happy. Sighing, I opened my wardrobe and pulled out my light faded blue skinny jeans and I also took out my favourite black jumper with the Batman logo on the front. Yes, I grew up watching Batman with my older brother and this jumper was a present from him. I miss him so much. "Hurry up!" Alex yelled as loud as he could possibly can and I just slightly picked it up. Tip toeing down the stairs, I tried to make Alex jump but he was waiting to jump me so we ended up making each other jump and fall to the ground laughing. "Here are your car keys," Alex managed to say inbetween giggles, handing me my car keys. "Wouldn't you like to take the bus?" I suggest, nudging him. "Ooh, can we?" he says, clapping his little chubby hands like a seal. Nodding my head, I gave a grin and he got up from the floor and half walked-half running, like the awkward walk you do when you're crossing a road, to the front door. Letting a quiet laugh leave my lips, I go into the living room and picked up my hairbrush I always left there, and brushed it through my chocolate brown wavy hair that fell to the middle of my back. "Come oooooon," Alex whined, pulling my arm. "Wait!" I squealt, pulling my wrist out of his grip and pulled my hair back into a messy bun. "Don't forget your shoes!" I giggled, and Alex ran back to his room to get his trainers. Picking up my white ankle Converses shoes, I slipped them on quickly and I helped Alex with his shoes when he came downstairs with his small but adorable red VANs shoes. "Ready!" Alex whooped as he jumped off the couch and he ran to the door. Exiting the door, the cold wind pinched our cheeks and Alex's hands help up to me and I pick him up, holding him tight. Was he ready to meet his father?
