5. Alice Split Life

Mrs Brian ignored the loud obnoxious giggles from outside, trying to focus on her lesson. Due to Mr Payne not having a lesson to run, he decided to go on Hallway duty, keeping the noise down for students that have been sent out of class. It was his job to rather take down to the Principals office or keep them quiet so that other classes could get on with their work with-out noise.

Alice had gotten bored from the lesson already, instead of just ignoring the sounds. It reminded her of the days when she used to do that. Alice loved those days; she would call them the golden days. Mrs Brian was still determined to keep Alice’s attention on her, making sure that Alice understood what they were learning about. In a clever way Mrs Brian kept Alice’s attention by saying;

“Okay we are going to watch a video on the food chain”, yet Alice was sort of bothered.

All attention was now on the screen, yet Alice could not make her mind up whether or not she wants to pay attention. As she turned around to see if Joe was still outside, she saw Stacy at the window. Her mouth was moving, mimicking words that Alice could not really understand.

Mrs Brian noticed that Alice was not paying attention, so instead of giving her a final chance. She had sort of lost hope, which lead to sending Alice out of the classroom.

“Alice, if you’re not bothered about my lessons, then please just get out of here”, Mrs Brian shouted, while trying to stay calm for the sake of students who wanted to learn.

Alice’s vision of seeing Stacy outside, well it seemed that Mrs Brian’s voice pushed the vision away. Alice turned around to face the screen, yet she was wondering why Mrs Brian and all the students were staring at her.

“Well Alice? In your own time please...” Mrs Brian said with a angry look on her face. Alice was curious on why she is the centre of attention. Judging from Mrs Brian looking at the door, Alice knew what had just happened; Alice noticed that she was not wanted in the classroom.

While slowly collecting her beautiful sports bag, along with collecting her notepad that she had on her desk. Mrs Brian could finally keep the other students interested, with no more interruptions. Alice had now left the classroom with the door no longer slamming. Probably due to Joe not being in sight of the classroom’s door. As Alice walked out of the classroom, Mr Payne had spotted her being sent out.

“Alice! What have you been sent out for?” Mr Payne shouted, as he jogged towards her.

Alice’s mind was a little blank from what had just happened. Due to her not understanding why she was sent out, she was confused on what to say to Mr Payne.

“I... I... I don’t know...” Alice said while stumbling on a few words.

“Well, I guess I will have to speak to Mrs Brian, make sure that she does not have anything planned for you to do while out here”. Mr Payne said as he knocked on the classrooms door.

All students were no longer looking at the screen, Mrs Brian reassured her remaining students.

“Class, just watch the video while I speak to Mr Payne outside”, of course if Joe or Sarah was still in the class. There would have been a sound of a whistle or two.

Mrs Brian went out of the classroom with Mr Payne, a few steps away from Alice. Whispering to each other on a discussion of why Alice is outside.

“Well I asked Alice here, why she had been sent out, yet she could not give me a reason”, Mr Payne whispered.

“Yes... Well Alice was disrupting my class. She did not seem to look bothered about the lesson I was teaching”, Mrs Brian replied with a small toned whisper.

Mr Payne nodded, while then asking another question.

“Do you want me to take her into the cooler? She can do some work there, if you have anything for her to write or learn just hand it me”. Mr Payne suggested while looking behind him.

“Yes, I have a worksheet that she could do; I just would like her to finish it with a slow pace. While really concentrating on her work in future”. Mrs Brian replied as she giggled a little.

Mr Payne nodded, while then walking back to Alice to give her an instruction. Mrs Brian went back inside of her classroom to deal with her students.

Alice was now with Mr Payne in the hallway, Alice was curious on what she needed to do.

“Alice, I spoke to your teacher and we have decided that you need to do some work down in the cooler. Mrs Brian has got a worksheet for you” Mr Payne whispered.

Alice nodded a little while keeping a focus on what she was told to do. Moving towards her classroom, she pushed the door open. Moving towards the empty desk, collecting her Science book along with her worksheet. That was inside her Science book.

Now that she had her worksheet, science book and a pencil. It was time to go with Mr Payne down to the cooler. Which is a place where students who have caused disruption or trouble will go to cool down mainly? Leaving the classroom with no door slam, Alice walked with Mr Payne down the stairs to the cooler. It was not long until they had reached the cooler’s door. Mr Payne opened the door for Alice, allowing her to go first.
