War of the Ancients

This is a prequel to the book of my friend Lola Luna. You'll know it when you see it but later. This is about a race of Vampires and Necromancers who really hate each other. They put it aside as best as possible when threatened by a rising race of Dragons and faeries. Will they make it? Or will the Dragons wipe them out?

4. Marianna

Andrese's P.O.V

I walked up the stony and spiraling staircase in the southeast corner. It was dark and moist, with water dripping down from above. I enjoyed making a game out of dodging the falling raindrops. I chuckled as I avoided another drop, falling just in front of me. I took it slow by not using my abnormal speed. When I reached my room, I walked to my large window. It over looked the entire villa and beyond to the siren pools of Ikcarus. Further to the east was the forests which so many half-bloods wallowed.

I yawned as I turned back to my bed. It was not a coffin but an actual bed made of cotton and the finest silks sewed by the female humans. Curtains in the color of blood red, draped over the sides of my large bed. I glanced across my room seeing nothing of particular interest. I sighed unhappily and layed in my bed. "Oh gracious, now what...".

"Oh Andrese, you are going to rot away on that bed." a thick Spanish voice called out.

I looked up and smiled at the beautiful woman in front of me. I stood up quickly and ended up to her side. My hands in her black curls as I dipped her down. She laughed softly, her bright green eyes illuminating the rest of her perfect face. I ran one finger from her nose to her soft lips, gazing into her eyes the entire time. I held her easily with my strong powers as I kissed her deeply. I could feel her smile against my lips and I chuckled softly, pulling away.

"Hello my darling" I spoke out in a grateful tone.

"Hola my princey" Marianna replied.

I smiled at her lovingly. She was beautiful before but now I could just not keep my eyes off of her. She smiled, shaking her head and standing up. I pulled her towards me gently and held her as we gazed outside the large window. Suddenly a screech sounded from below in the villa. Marianna jumped slightly but I kept calm. I walked over to the window holding her hand tightly. I looked down and saw that there was large fires inside the villa. I swore under my breath and walked towards my door. It busted open by the force of a young servant in the castle.

"Speak." I commanded in a booming voice.

"Prince  Andrese the 1st," he said nervously  with a bow. "We have invaders... Sir...They are dragons"

Marianna gasped and I stood there with a twisted face. Was it true? Did they come back in my lifetime?
