23. Chapter 22 Leaving

Harry and I were up in his room, packing his clothes and other essentials, listening to music on the radio. I was putting some clothes Harry had laid on his bed the day before, when I came across a blue beanie. “Oh, that’s for you.” Harry said, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist, resting his head on my shoulder.

“Harry, what if it gets cold, and you need a beanie? Plus, I don’t look good in hats.” I said, leaning my head on his.

“Trust me, babe, I have plenty more. And I think you’d look good in my beanie.” I sighed.

“Fine, thank you Harry, but no more gifts.”

“But, baby… I have one more.” He whined.

“Harry, c’mon, you don’t need to buy me anything. You’re gonna be back.”

“I know, I just… I don’t want you to forget me.”

“How on earth could I ever forget you?” I asked, as I turned around in his arms and put my hands on his cheeks.“Harry, I’ll never forget you, I’m yours and you’re mine. I should be the one worrying about you forgetting me.”

“I could never do that babe.” He said, as A Thousand Years by Christina Perri came on. We started to sway to the music. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer and put my face in his shoulder.

“It’s true, you know.” I said.

“What is?” I looked up at him.

“That, I have died every day waiting for you, darling don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years, I’ll love you for a thousand more.” I sang along to the chorus. He chuckled.

“Same to you, babe, same to you.” He said, pulling me back to him. We just swayed back and forth until the song was over and then just hugged. We didn’t want to let go, we couldn’t.

“Hey, you two it’s-” Gemma stopped when she saw us. “Oh, sorry, umm, it’s 5 now, so I just thought you would want to know. I know you have to leave soon.”

“Get over here Gem.” Harry said, letting go of me and holding his arms out to his big sister. She walked over and hugged him. “I’ll miss you sis.”

“I’ll miss you too, little bro.” She said. I laughed as Harry pulled out of the hug and frowned. He then pulled us into a group hug. “Mom!” He yelled, making Gemma and I wince. His mom came into the room.

“What’s up sweetie?” She asked.

“Get over here.” He said. Anne came over and joined our group hug. We all laughed and stayed like that for a minute, and then we pulled away. “You two should probably go.” Anne said.

“I guess. Bye mum, I love you.” Harry said, pulling his mom in for another hug. “You two Gem.” He said, pulling away from his mom and hugging his sister. “You ready, babe?” He asked, turning to me.

“As I’ll ever be.” I said. Harry grabbed his suitcase and carry-on and we left. We got into his car and drove next door, honking the horn for Niall and Lisa to come out. Niall already had his bag packed and in Harry’s car so he didn’t have to worry about that. We pulled into the airport parking lot and we got all of the bags. Harry intertwined our fingers and Niall did the same thing. We walked inside and were immediately bombarded by screams, fans and paparazzi. Paul was waiting for us and escorted us to where the other boys were. We all met up and said our goodbyes, all the boys but Harry gone.

“I don’t wanna go.” Harry whined, pressing his forehead against mine.

“Harry, you gotta go, we’ll both be fine. We’ll make it through this. We’ll see each other soon.” I said, hoping my words would prove to be true.

“I love you, Beka.” He said. He reached behind his head, and took off his paper airplane necklace. He then placed it around my neck. I smiled up at him.

“I love you too Harry.” We kissed and then Paul came up behind Harry.

“We gotta go, sorry.” He said, putting his hand on Harry’s shoulder.

“Bye, love.” Harry said.

“Bye.” I said. I turned to Paul.

“You keep them safe and if you need me to get him under control, just call.”

“You might regret saying that. They get pretty crazy.” Paul said, laughing as he led Harry through the crowd and to check in. Harry looked back and waved. I waved back and smiled weakly. “Well, only two months before I get to go see him.” I thought. I met up with the other girls and we all walked out, hand in hand, together.
