When I got off the bus I felt confident in myself and a tinge of excitement. I was so glad that I finally showed stupid snot-faced Cassy that i was done sitting back and letting her spread bad rumors about me. It just isn't fair that I am nice to everyone and she can be so mean back. The only reason that Cassie actually had friends was because they buddied up with her in hope that she wouldn't be mean to them. I may not be the smartest person in my class, but I definitely am not the stupidest.

I threw my book bag down on the table and ran to my room, throwing myself on my fluffy bed. I was so happy and it felt good to get that out of my system. Suddenly a thought came to me. I have to tell Blade this! He loves to listen to me... even though he doesn't understand me I still like to talk to him. Mostly because he can't go behind my back and tell anyone else.

I opened up his stall and got out the tack to continue my usual routine as I babbled on about my day. He seemed to care about everything even if nobody else did. I lead him out to the arena and started to warm him up. My side still ached a little as the english saddle pushed it forward. The spring air was fresh and warm. I loved the smell of the air after a rain because it was so fresh.

Blade and I made a couple of jumps. When it came time for dinner, mom called me in.

"Alright Blade, let's make one last nice jump and then we'll be done for the day."

I pushed him forward at a gallop. The fresh air pushing back my hair, little moisture dampening my face, Blade's graceful galloping underneath me. . Nothing could get between me, Blade or the wind. I am always free. Nothing matters anymore. Just worry about yourself. Don't worry about Cassy, or homework, or friends, or even school period. Blade is your only friend. He's the only one who trusts you. He is your best friend. He will never hurt you on purpose, or hurt you emotionally, or hurt you period, he believes in you...

And as I rethought this beautiful phrase...this time Blade made the most perfect...most graceful jump i had ever felt...yes, everything was right in the world.

  Or so i thought...
