17. Chapter 16

"And where have you two been?" Justin asked as Peyton and Colton walked into the kitchen of Colton's house. Ryan was sitting next to Justin, eating cereal quietly, not bothering to tell Colton that he helped himself to his food.

Colton ignored him and made his way over to a cupboard to get a glass. He filled it with water, then handed it to Peyton. After she took a sip of it, she said, "Out."

Justin laughed hysterically. "Oh, right, and you expect me to believe that. That's great, so if you've been "out" where have you been since one in the morning?"

"We were just out Justin." Peyton spat.

Colton smirked. As he was walking out of the kitchen he yelled, "We had sex at some bar and fell asleep there!"

Ryan's eyes grew wide, but he said nothing as he put his head down. Peyton sighed and hid her face in her hands before she could see Justin's expression.

To be honest, all Justin wanted to do was cry, or punch something, but he couldn't. He tightened his jaw and stayed silent. He slowly got up and walked over to the door. Before he pushed it open, he said, "I hope you're happy."

He stormed over to and out the front door, not bothering to address the fact that Peyton was following him. He was vaguely aware that she was saying something to him, but he ignored it as he fished for his car keys in his pocket. Finally, Peyton started to cry and it was almost like he woke up from some kind of trance.

"Justin," Peyton sniffled. "Are you listening to me now?"

He glared at her. "Yes I'm listening, but that doesn't mean I want to."

Peyton sighed and wiped some tears off of her face. "You know I'm sorry, right?"

"I know you're sorry, but I'm not going to accept your apology." He stated bluntly.

"Oh, come on!" She said. "You're just being stubborn. I know you want to accept my apology."

Justin licked his lips. " No, I don't. I'm literally done with you. You're the one being stubborn; decide who you want little miss whore!" He yelled. "Cause I'm leaving."

"Did you just call me a whore?" She whispered.

"Yeah, 'cause last time I checked you had three boyfriends. Good thing though, now you only have two."

"Justin why are you saying these things? I thought we loved each other." Peyton cried.

"Loved, being the important word. We loved each other, but I'm over trying to get your attention again. I know I wasn't there for you, but now, you're not there for me and I'm sick of it. So goodbye, have fun with Colton and Ryan."

"Justin!" Peyton shrieked. "You can't be serious right now! I do love you and I can't go on without you! You're my whole life now, you can't just walk out!"

"Actually I can, when you're fucking the whole football team behind my back. Seriously? That's cold. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go."

Justin pushed his way past Peyton and over to his car. He unlocked it and got in, slamming the car door behind him. The last thing he saw before he sped off was Peyton collapsing on to the ground--and Colton running over to help her up.

Samantha's heels clicked on the cold, hard ground as she walked back to the burned hotel. She didn't want to go back there, but Cooper was waiting for her and Dakota to return so he could leave for his part of the job.

She found him leaning up against a wall, smoking--not that it was a surprise. He looked up at her and Dakota with a smile, that quickly turned into a frown when he noticed Samantha's arms.

"Baby what happened? I thought you got out of there quick enough." Cooper said.

"Something fell on me." She said.

Cooper frowned again. "Can I see?"

Samantha nodded and held out her arms for him. He gently placed his lips on every burn, making her wince, and making her stomach melt at the same time. After a while, Dakota cleared his throat.

"Cooper, you can go find Justin now. He's driving around L.A., but it won't be hard to find him." Dakota tossed Cooper a tracker. "And Samantha can go with you since Ryan isn't with him."

They both nodded, and Dakota smiled.

"Good." He said. "Our plan is finally starting to unfold."

Cooper and Samantha found Justin leaning up against a garbage can on the far side of L.A., drinking a beer. He looked calm, which was nice, since Cooper wasn't there to start a fight with him or anything.

He hopped out of the car after telling Samantha to stay put--then he walked over to Justin. When he got there, Justin said,

"What the fuck do you want?"

Cooper chuckled. "I don't want anything. I'm just here to introduce myself. Pleased to meet you, I'm Cooper."

Justin raised an eyebrow. "Cooper," He repeated. "You set that hotel on fire didn't you?"

Cooper shrugged. "Guilty."

"You're funny. But why are you introducing yourself when I'm still technically involved in a plot to figure out what you're doing?"

"Well lemme guess," Cooper stroked his chin mockingly. "You're here because of someone and you don't want anything to do with them, so I'm here, wondering if you'll work with us, because you're obviously not welcome there anymore."

Justin nodded his head slowly.

"Sweet," Cooper stuck his hand out. "So are you coming with us or not?"

"You didn't give me very many options," Justin said as he shook Cooper's hand. "Show me what you got."
