I tapped my pencil on my desk as I waited for Angie to get to geometry. Then I realized that I hadn't seen Zayn in the hallway, so he must be with her. Just then the two walked into the classroom laughing and standing pretty close. Mr. Jargon glared at them and Zayn cleared his throat and the teacher pointed to the seat next to Angie's for him to sit. So Ange practically skipped to her seat and he grinned and followed her, slinging his book bag over the back of his chair and sitting down. I sneered at him and he grinned; I had never hated someone so much in my life. So I ignored the two giggling and having fun to my side; I could tell Zayn was quite the bad boy, he made paper airplanes and the two were throwing them at Mr. Jargon. *Gag*

When class was over, Zayn handed Angie a slip of paper, and she handed him one back, he smiled and she waved goodbye. Then she bounced over to me in that bubbly way of hers. I couldn't help the grin spreading across my face; but then I gained control of myself and narrowed my eyes at her.

"What's wrong?" she asked, genuinely concerned. I sighed and looked her up and down.

"You, are a ditcher." I told her as I walked quickly ahead of her, heading to the gym building for dance.

She sighed, "I did not ditch you," her perfect little features visibly relaxed, "I am just welcoming Zayn to Appleton."

I snorted, "We live in California," I reminded her, turning a corner in the tunnel under our school to get to the studio, "there are plenty of... women who can welcome him if you know what I mean. I don't think an innocent and naive girl like you should hang around the likes of him." I said, instantly regretting it.

She gasped and tears filled her eyes. She got red splotches on her cheeks as they started to pour, and I drowned in guilt. "You think I'm... naive?"

"I- no, no, no! That is definitely not what I meant to say, Ange." I couldn't finish because she had run off as much as she could in her pumps. "Angie!" I yelled after her and jogged around a small puddle.

I heard her tears and someone shushing her as I rounded the corner to get into the dance room. When I saw that it was just her and Delilah Tucker I was relieved, "Angela I didn't mean that! It came out totally wrong and I am so sorry."

She sniffed and looked at me, I was hoping to tell whether she would forgive me. But then she touched Delilah on the shoulder and said, "Thank you." Then she glared at me and rushed out of the room.

Great. Now I have someone trying to steal my best friend, AND now Delilah was mad at me, I opened my mouth and she put up her hand, "I don't want to hear it. Just get changed and prepare our lesson. You know how sensitive she is, so you should watch your mouth."

I groaned as I walked away and into the locker room, changing and contemplating how to apologize again.
