Over Again

I'm Miranda, an art colledge student, living in London with a fairly average lifestyle. That is, until I meet a few colourful characters that pull me from the streets into the limelight where unfortunately, I will never ever be forgotten.

23. Starbucks

*The next day*

I woke up with a smile on my face; even the morning sun peeking through my curtains didn’t bother me, or the fact that I would probably have to face Katie today. I feel like I’m on cloud nine since and the feeling is just great, I haven’t been this happy since…well, let’s not get into that subject or I won’t be happy much longer. I slip on my slipper booties and prance down the stairs, over joyed about my date last night. Calum and I spent a few more hours together, he even came back here for a movie before kissing me goodbye and going home, such a gentleman. He could even tell I was so tired and let me be, I didn’t have to say a word! I couldn’t believe my luck that he was gone and I was in bed by the time Katie arrived home, with a male presence. I knew it was Harry, what other idiot in the whole of the male race would date her beside my stupid ex?

Katie’s bedroom door is still closed. So I decide against making breakfast and decide to get changed instead, I’ll just grab breakfast out. I slip on my pink tank top saying “I’m 99.9% sure I’m a Disney princess” with a pair of Khaki green studded hotpants underneath and my mint green Vans on my feet. I slip my gold infinity ring on my finger and put on a long chain owl necklace and apply light makeup before tying my hair in a messy bun. I decide not to bring a coat or jumper because it looks really warm outside. I bring my keys, money and phone with me before leaving, slipping out the door before Katie even thinks about getting out of bed. I don’t know what I’m doing but I just start walking towards some shops in search of food. I end up grabbing the subway into the heart of London city.

I wander around the busy crowd, standing out quite a bit among the business people in their suits. I don’t really care though, why be boring and all the same when you can stand out and be original?  I find a Starbucks and decide to splash my cash, even though I have very little. Besides, if the paps are following me, (which they have been since I got into the middle of the city!) it’s better if they spot me walking into a Starbucks than into a cheap old dusty coffee shop. I go inside and order a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows before taking a seat by the windows, watching all the busy commuters rushing to and fro. I’m kinda happy about the direction in which my life is heading right now, not about the whole ‘fame’ thing but about having all the good friends I have. Danielle and the boys are like family to me and I really don’t know what I’d do without them, I don’t care about how famous they are or how famous they will be, I just care about them. They’re normal people just like you and me but when people see them on stage and on TV they just think about how famous they are.

I should probably find a job; I haven’t been inspired much lately to paint and I won’t be able to survive on the money made from selling the paintings. My hot chocolate is more than half full so I decide to ring the girls so I can make a day out of it. I ring Danielle first, being the closest to her.

“Hey Dani! Wanna meet? I’m at Starbucks, the one down the street and around the corner from the underground!”

I hear her sigh and begin to bite my lip, please tell me she can!

“I’m really sorry Randy but I gotta go to the studio today! I have to help out some beginners or something, maybe later?”

I nod before realizing she cannot see me,

“Yeah sure, it’s alright. Ring me later, yeah?”

We hang up after chatting and I stare at the next number before sighing and hitting the ‘call’ button, she picks up on the third ring.

“Hey Miranda, what's up?”

Perrie doesn’t sound as excited as Danielle did but she is chirpy, meaning I picked the right day to meet her.

“I was thinking, want to meet today?”

I can hear the smile through her voice as she happily replies,

“Sure! I was sitting around with nothing to do! Where should I meet you?”

I give her the instructions and directions to the Starbucks I’m in,

“Ok, I’ll be there in a few! Mind if I bring the girls?”

“Sure! Who exactly?”

“Oh sorry I didn’t mention them! My bandmates! Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne!”

We chat for a bit before hanging up, my hot chocolate is still a bit too steamy so I blow on it and continue watching the people outside. Perrie arrives a little while later looking gorgeous as usual, I stand up and give her a quick hug before giving one to each of the girls.

“Miranda, this is Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne!”

She points to each and every girl, they each smile and wave before they order their drinks and take a seat around me. They’re all stylish, as you would expect for famous celebrities. I inspect each of their outfits, their fashion senses just amazing. Jesy is dressed casual but still stylish in a black leather jacket with a pair of blue denim three-quarter length jeans with rips on them. She has black studded Converse on with matching leather studded and chain jewellery. Her makeup is simple with blood-red lipstick and her hair is styled straight.

Jade was wearing a cute baby pink ruffle string top with loose black lace shorts and a pair of banana yellow converse.  She has a bunch of rainbow coloured braided bracelets on and a turquoise bow in her hair. Her hair was slightly wavy and cute, I really liked her outfit.

Leigh-Anne was dressed really nice too with a tied front cream sleeveless shirt and a coral pink skater skirt with mint green Vans, the exact same as mine. She has a black sling purse sitting on her shoulder and a bunch of bright blue bangles on her wrist that jingled whenever she moved. Her hair was in its natural curly state and her makeup was natural.

Perrie has a high-low pink dress on with a gold beaded belt around the waist, a pair of Dr Martins on her feet. She has a black fedora hat sitting on her curled golden hair and a spiky golden bangle on her left arm. They’re all dressed beautifully, no doubt designer gear!

All the girls order the same as me without realizing it; we’re all seated sipping our hot beverages when I start a new conversation, away from the previous one about shopping.

“So how has the tour been going?”

They all begin talking at the same time and then burst out in fits of giggles, me joining along. We talked for ages about a hundred different things before they had to go, we all exchanged numbers with the promise of talking again soon before parting ways. Them going back to their superstar life and me going back to being broke. It was still quite early in the day so I decided to go job hunting. I went to a few different shops but they wouldn’t even offer me an interview, claiming that they weren’t looking for any more employees. I almost gave up when I found a cute little Café on a lovely cobble-stone paved street. It was bustling for such as small place, customers enjoying beverages and cakes under the umbrellas on the outdoor tables and chairs. Flowers decorate the window panes and are placed either side of the doors too. I enter through the cute wooden doors and find a middle-aged lady serving at the counter. I wait until all the customers are served before approaching her,

“Hello dear, how may I help you?”

Her English accent is warm as she addresses me, she sounds so kind and welcoming.

“Oh yes, I was wondering if you are available to hire me as an employee to work here?”

She smiles and offers me her hand,

“Oh I see well I was actually going to print out a few posters but I didn’t know it was that easy. What college do you go to dear?”

I tell her all about my Art course and how I’m currently on summer break and she smiles before nodding towards the calendar hung on the far wall.

“Well, if you can come around Monday I would love to teach you how to serve the drinks and all, I might have you do a bit of waitressing first to get into the swing of things, what do you think of that?”

I nod enthusiastically before pulling her into a hug, she seems like one of those kind people, and she proves my theory right when she laughs and hugs me tighter before pulling away and serving a customer,

“I will see you Monday dear.”

With that I leave and skip down the street in happiness, things are finally looking up for once! I just can’t wait until Monday!
