Simon Cowell Adopts Me

Taylor was left at the orphanage as a baby and never expects to be adopted, but when Simon Cowell, - aka Uncle Simon - the producer of her favourite band One direction, comes to the orphanage, she doubts that she will get adopted. She was in for a big surprise.

27. Tears

After my argument with my dad, I didn't talk to anyone, I barely ate, and barely did anything but cry. I would eat maybe one of two small little snacks a day? Get a drink of oj each time. Then go back to my room and sit there.

I didn't speak at all. Except for, thank you's, to the chefs and maids. I didn't say anything to the boys, especially Zayn and Harry. I didn't speak to Zoey either.

They tried to make me feel better, they did. Zoey told me that she got everything from her foster parents, including money and the house they lived in. She sold the house and told me that she gave all the extra money she got to a childrens hospital. She also said that she was going to get me something special, from her, in thanks for the hospitality, and that I was gonna get a surprise from someone else. It didn't sound hopeful.

One day, I would say about a week after the whole incident, I got up and got a snack, a rice crispie, with the rainbow chocolate chips, and a big glass of oj, complete with a swirly straw. I headed back to my room and saw a small box sitting next to a not on my bed. I closed the door behind me and locked it, walking over to it and picking up the note. It was scrawled in messy handwriting. It read:

Dear Taylor:

I know that you're kind of depressed right now, about us having to break up, about getting in a fight with your dad. I know. But this was something I was planning on giving to you, later in our relationship, but seeing as that it isn't allowed to continue, I might as well give it to you now. I hope it makes you feel better, and maybe be social and happy again.

Yours always,

                    Zayn.

I set down the note with a shaky hand and carefully grabbed the box. Deep in my mind I knew what it was, knew what it meant, but that was as deeply buried as any memory of my parents. I took a deep breath, holding in the exhale as I pried the box open, to reveal a ring, a simple ring, silver in colour with a infinity knot making it a little more decorative. Before your mind jumps to the most obvious conclusion, no, it was not a engagement ring.

A small piece of paper was tucked up in the hollowed out spot on the top half of the box and it too had messy handwriting scrawled on it. Yes, a promise ring. Please wear it. -Zayn.
