3. Chapter Two- Redemption

Ding dong

"I'll get it!"  I shouted, I got out of my seat and run into the front hall, then answered the door.

"Hey."  His wide arm scared me, they scared me more than life itself, at least for that moment they did. That moment before he said the one thing I never thought I would hear escape his mouth, "I'm sorry."  James Cambree, world class bully and the reason for every one of the fourteen scars on my body, said.

  "Why?"  I ask.

"Because I'm a jerk."  He replies, quite plainly.

I smile.  He smiles.  "Can we be friends?"  I ask.

"But I'm a jerk.  Trust me, you don't want to be my friend."  He tells me.

"Of course I do."  I reply.  I really do want too.  I'd love to have a friend.  Maybe he'll even be my best friend.  I've always wanted a best friend, like the ones in the movies.

  "Okay."

That's it, this is when it all became OK again.  My dad and I are doing fine on are own, and I have a friend.  And I suppose I can start living right about now.  I suppose I should come back to life.  I think it's about time to change, to change everything.  My mom left me for a reason, and like my science teacher always say, "With every goodbye, there is a new hello."  And my hello was the most unlikely of them all, it was a bully.
