8. Let's Reconsider

"How about you and I get out of here and..." I threw my drink into the guy's face before walking away. This party had to be one of the worst parties I've ever been too. I walked out of the house, then got into my car. I was in college now and I rarely saw my sister. I missed her. I'd call her every so often, but most days, she hardly picked up so I stopped calling.

The days she did answer when I called, we talked for only a short while to see how the other person was doing and that was all. I bet she was dating someone right now. She was always beautiful. She always got the guys. I wouldn't consider myself a competion to my sister. She and I are equally beatufiul in our own way. I just felt like she was more beautiful than I.

I started my car and began to drive down the street looking for another party to go to. After twenty minutes of driving, I heard music from down the street and I knew I was close to another house party. This party looked more fun than the last one. So far, I've ditched like five different houses before going to this one. I parked my car near the side of the street, got out and headed inside the house.

The house was large, a two story house with tons of people. It was really crowded, but that didn't bother me at all.  I walked over to the table and grabed myself a cup full of beer. Now all I need was for someone to dance with. As I scouted the room, a familiar someone caught my eye.

Harry's POV.

"Harry, I hope this is the last house we'll ever go to. I'm tired of jumping from house to house." Louis told me. From the tone of his voice, I knew he was impatient. As soon as we entered the house, the place began to fill with more people. We all grabbed ourselves a cup from the table, then went on to mingle with girls and their friends. None of them really interested me, except for one.

I saw her enter the house from where I was standing. The guys weren't paying any attention to her. For some odd reason, the girl was familiar. She looked familiar, but no name stood out in my mind. She stood out from all the other girls. She looked like she had come from previous parties before going to this one. Just from the way she looked, I could tell she needed a good time and someone had to show her how.

With enough courage, I made my way towards her direction. As I neared closer and closer, the girl became even more familiar to me. My heart pounded against my chest, and I tried with all my might to slow down my heart rate. Finally I reached the girl and that's when her name came to me. Jessica. It had been at least a year since the last I saw her.

She looked... different. But in a good way. "Jessica?" I asked her.

Jessica's POV.

A guy walked up to me and all I could see were his green eyes. The guy I had seen earlier was the same one that was standing right before me. "Jessica?" he asked me and I looked at him, confused. How did he know my name? But then it hit me. His brown curly hair, his eyes, his facial features, and just the way he dressed. "Harry." I said.

The longer we looked into each other's eyes, all these emotions washed over me. I suddenly felt a bit overwhelmed. "I... I need some air." I said, setting my cup down on the table and walked out of the house. I couldn't stand to be in the same room as Harry, not after beaking up with Niall a few months ago.

Niall and I both knew it was for the best, but I'm still glad that we're friends. "Jessica." I heard my name being called out and I didn't have to turn around to know who it was. "What do you want Harry?" I asked, turning to face him. "I mean, why are you even here?"

"The guys and I were just looking to have fun. We heard that there were a few parties going on around here. The others were kind of boring." he said.

"Really? That's the reason why you came back?" I didn't believe him. Of course he would come up with a lie to hide the fact that he came here to see me. That had to be the real reason. "Okay, you caught me. The real reason why I'm here is to see you." he said.

I shook my head at him and began walking towards the direction of my car. "Figures."

"Jessica, you can't just walk away from me again." he said.

I stopped in my tracks and turned to face him just in time to see he had stopped walking. "I walked away from you because you were the one who told me that you didn't want to be in a relationship at the time. I bet that even now you don't want to be in a relationship. You just want some girl you can have sex with and forget about all the problems that you've had."

"That's all you think of me Jess?"

"Don't call me that. We're still not friends."

"You think that I just go around meeting girls and having sex with them? That's not true. I came back to redeem myself for what I did to you. I came to ask you to give me a second chance to prove to you that I care about you, but I see that you're the one who changed."

He began to walk away and I called out after him. "Harry! Harry, wait!!" He stopped and turned to face me. "What?" he asked.

"You don't know how hard it was for me to forget about what you told me that night. I still can't get those words out of my head. I miss being friends with you, and I miss it when you call me by my nicknames. The nicknames that you call me. I want to reconsider. I want to try being friends with you Haz."

I walked up to him, taking his hands and looking up into his eyes. "Let's ditch this party and hang out at my place. We can watch a movie like we used to." I said. A smile spread across his face. "You'd rather ditch a college party for a movie night with me?" he asked.

I smiled, laughing a bit. "I'd give up everything for you." I said.

"Cheesy." he smiled.

"Shut up." I lightly pushed him and then gave him a hug. "I missed you." I felt his arms wrap around me, holding me close. I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of his body against mine. "I missed you too." he said. We stayed like that for a while until we were interrupted by the guys. "Jess, is that you?" I heard Louis ask as Harry and I pulled away from the hug.

"You haven't changed a bit." he said.

"Neither have you." I smiled as he walked over and gave me a hug. Zayn and Liam joined in on the hug as well. I gave Niall a hug individually, knowing full well that it wouldn't be awkward between us. "What were you guys doing before we came out here?" Zayn asked as soon as Niall and I pulled away from our hug.

"Nothing." Harry said.

"Didn't look like nothing." Liam said.

"It's none of your guys' business." I said.

"Hopefully you're not hiding anything from us." Niall smiled.

"Well, you two are missing out on the party." Zayn said.

"You guys go ahead. I was about to walk Jessica to her car." Harry said. I saw Liam and Niall's reactions were the same. I looked at Zayn and Louis who looked like they both knew what Harry was up to. I've always known that Harry was a very predictable guy. Once the guys were inside the house, Harry and I made our way down the street towards my car.

I parked my car in front of my house and entered the house as Harry followed me inside. "Where is your sister?" Harry asked once I closed the door. "Probably on a date, or just working late. I'm not really sure." I said, tossing my keys into the bowl on the table beside the door. "That's too bad." he said, then walked into the living room.

"What movie do you want to watch?" He called out to me as I walked into the kitchen to make some popcorn. "Surprise me." I called back to him, putting the bag into the microwave. Once it was done, I put all the popcorn into a bowl and walked into the living room just as the movie had begun to play.

Harry was all ready making himself at home by taking off his shoes and resting his feet on the coffee table. I smiled, shaking my head at him as I sat down beside him, crossing my legs and putting the bowl of popcorn in my lap. I later learned that the movie were were watching was The Vow. I loved that Harry had a soft side. It was one of the many qualities he had that I admired.

Harry's POV.

While the movie was playing, Jessica had fallen asleep. Her head rested on my shoulder as I looked down at her and smiled. I took the bowl of popcorn out of her lap and set it on the coffee table. I turned off the DVD and the TV, picked Jessica up and brought her upstairs to her bedroom.

I pulled back the covers and set her down on the bed, then tucked her in. I kissed her forehead, then turned off the the lights and closed the door behind me. While I was cleaning I heard the front door open and close, then Angela entered the kitchen. "Harry, what an unexpected surprise." she said. "What are you doing here?"

"Watching a movie with Jess." I answered.

She nodded slowly, "Speaking of Jess, where is she?"

"Upstairs asleep."

"I can clean up here. You should get some rest. I better not catch you sleeping in the same room with her, or else..." she said.

"Yes ma'am." I smirked. She rolled her eyes and pointed in the direction of the stairs. "Go to bed Harry Styles." I knew she couldn't contain her laughter. There were so many ways I could make her laugh, like Jessica. "Good night Ange." I said, then walked out of the kitchen and headed to one of the guest rooms.
