Behind the Scenes of Victoriana

Ever wonder what goes into a manga? Well, for Victoriana, the process took me about 4 years. To really, truly BEGIN. So in case you're wondering, here's why it took so long...

8. Encouragement

If you guys want to draw manga, but don't think you're any good, relax first of all. I got to this point by practicing a LOT. And I'm still not very good. But what I recommend is going out and drawing things, not just manga because to draw manga, you need to be able to do landscape, architecture, fashion, many things. I recommend keeping all of your drawings, even doodles because you never know when you can utilize old ideas or look back on something to see how your style has progressed.

As to the story, I recommend writing out where you want your story to go and writing a manuscript based off of that. That way, you know where you're going. The last thing you want to do is entrap yourself in a story that doesn't make sense after you've edited your drawings.

So what are you guys waiting for? Get drawing! And don't be afraid to share your art with me :)
