You Found Me (Niall Horan fanfic)

I was lost. Alone. Tired of trying. That's when he found me. One Direction fanfic

17. sorry

Niall's POV

"Niall, meet Caleb Gunners," the words kept repeating themselves in my head.  Caleb.  My face dropped.  How could I have been so stupid?! She wasn't cheating on me.  That's why he was leaving with security.  I instantly felt regret.  I had been acting kind of cold to Skylar.  I had been crying.  I was going to break her heart.

"Say something," she said through tears.

" I-I'm s-sorry," I stumbled out.  Her face was confused.

"For what?"

"I thought, I thought you were seeing someone else.  You were crying that one time, too.  I'm sorry for leaving you," I said.

She nodded her head and whispered, "its okay."

A silence grew between us.  The only thing you could hear were her sobs.

When she had finally calmed down a bit I got the nerve and asked her a few questions.  Tsarting with the one that had bothered me the most.

"How come you didn't tell me?"

She remained silent. Tears began to stream down her face.

"I couldn't," she said.

"Why not?" I demanded.  I too was almost on the verge of tears.

"I-I didn't want you to worry about me," she sobbed.

"So you lie to me?"

"No!  You were on tour and you had shows to do.  I just didn't want you worried."

"Well SKylar, all you had me do was worry!"

She cried even harder at this.  "I'm sorry." She buried her face into her hands.

There was the sound of glass breaking coming from somewhere else in the house.  But Skylar didn't notice or didn't care.  When I didn't say anything she continued to talk.

"Caleb.  He threatened to hurt you Niall."

All this time she was trying to protect me from him.

"So you let him almost hurt you?" I spoke softly.  She nodded her head.

"Skylar," I sighed.  She needed to realize that she is worthy.  And she deserves a good life and respect.

"Skylar, Get down here!" an angry man's voice yelled.  There was even more glass breaking and yelling.  She disconnected.  I sat there awestruck.

Skylar's POV

I immediately disconnected and closed my laptop.  I didn't want Niall to see this.  I would tell him if he really wanted to know.  I left my crutches and began to hop to the stairs.  Once there I see my father at the bottom.  He looked angry.

"Come here," he said.  I slowly descended.  The stairs seemed a mile long.

I finally arrived next to him.

"Who were you talking to?"

"My friend..." I answered.

He laughed.  "You have friends?" he laughed once again.

"Yeah," I said and shrugged my shoulders.  His face became serious.

"Was it that boy in the hospital with you?" I nodded my head.

"So you are listening to my advice? You're getting that boy.  I heard that Gunners kid was there too.  Two of them.  Way to go," he said and patted me on the back.

"No Dad that's not it."

He laughed once again.  "I'm going out to get some beer.  Want some?"

I shook my hood.

"Whatever floats your boat," he said.  Sometimes when he was drunk he would have mood swings.  Apparently this is one of those times.

I slowly climbed the mountain of stairs once again and went into my room.  It was a mess.  The green paint was chipping.  The floor boards creaked.  But it was a fairly good size.

I walked to my laptop and set it on my bed.  I opened it up and Skyped Niall. He answered right away this time.

"Is everything alright?" he asked quickly.  I nodded my head.  A look of relief came across his face.  I couldn't help but smile.

"What did he want?"

"Just asked who I was talking to."

I nodded my head.

"He sounded a lot angrier," Niall laughed nervously.

"When he's drunk he gets mood swings," I explained.

Niall made the 'o' shape with his lips.

"Drunk? Already? Its only 11 in the morning," Niall questioned.

I shrugged my shoulders.

After that none of us said anything.

"I made you something," I blurted out.  Niall looked up.

"You did?"

I nodded my head and pulled out the drawing of him.

"Woah.  That's amazing.  I didn't know you could draw?" He said, obviously impressed.

"Yeah..." I laughed.

"What else have you drawn?" He asked.  I spent the next hour just showing him things that I have drawn before.  He seemed oddly interested.  No one was really into drawings.  Especially mine.  The only other person that knows I can draw is my art teacher.  And that's obviously only because he kind of has to see them.

It felt good to finally be home.  Niall and I were as good as ever.  Things were looking a lot brighter.
