47. Cheating

Hey guys, I just want to tell you that you should probably listen to the song La La La by Naughty boy ft. Sam Smith after or before reading this chapter.

Yeah and one more thing. PLEASE DON'T HATE ME.

Remus's P.O.V

"What the hell is he doing there with my cousin?!" I asked when Alex and Max were finally away enough to not hear us.

"I know right? You've always hated her, haven't you?" James asked me.

"Yeah, but she's liked Sirius. Probably because he's handsome."

"Despite the serious situation we're in, I'm gonna tell Sirius that you think he's handsome when he comes back." James said. I laughed.

"Although, I - I don't think Alex is coming back with him." I said. And there was a moment of silence.

Max's P.O.V

I couldn't believe my eyes. Sirius and Izzy? What? I was so shocked, so puzzled. And the poor Alex next to me, looked even worse.

"Sirius." She whispered. Sirius and Izzy stopped kissing, and they looked at us. Alex's eyes were all teary that I started wondering if she could see now. Shaking her head slowly, just trying to tell herself that this all wasn't real.

"What? What do you want?" Sirius asked crossly.

"Sirius!" I yelled.

"What?! Why are you here, can't you see we're in here privately, my girlfriend and I?" I realized that my mouth was wide open, I turned to Alex and hugged her.

"Whatever, Sirius! Damn it. what an idiot!" I shouted. I closed the door as hard as I could, and Alex stopped the hug and ran away. "Alex! ALLY!" I started calling her, running, trying to catch up with her, but she was too fast! At last she went to our dormitory, crying as hard as ever. Sitting on the ground by the bed. I sat down beside her and started rubbing her back with my hand. Her face was on her naked knees, tears filling them. She finally pulled her skirt to her knees and now it was all wet because of her tears.

"Shushh, calm down. He doesn't deserve it." I told her. I told her Sirius was a player, but I never knew he was that terrible. A cheater! And with no regrets!

Alex's P.O.V

I felt so hurt, betrayed. Flashbacks came to me, flashbacks that I wanted to forget.

I was sitting on the kitchen's table. Trying to ignore the sounds I heard from the second floor. The sounds of shouting, of things breaking, of swearing and hitting. I've got used to these voices. And saying this makes me feel guilty. That's the worst thing about problems, getting used to them. They always fight, they always shout. I sometimes close my ears with my fingers, trying to block out the sounds. Trying to block out everything. But I fail. So I move my feet back and forth and just wait.

Finally mum comes downstairs. her eyes puffy, and full of tears, her nose red, her cheeks salty, and her lips dry. A blue bruise by her eye that she tried to cover with her hair, but she couldn't, it was too big. Her hair looked as if she never combed it, and she was shaking with anger and sadness. But not fear, no I don't think she feared him. Her hands carried a suitcase.

"Go pack your clothes." She managed to say to me with her shaky, weak voice. I looked at her for an explanation, was it really the time? And when I looked at her eyes again, I took the blue mark as an answer. It was the right time. I immediately ran to my room, as fast as a bullet and put everything I had, and cared about in a huge suitcase. I finally put my dolls, and my small teddy bear that I still sleep with, that mom and dad once brought me, when they weren't like this. I smelled the bear, inhaling strongly. It still smelt like the past, like the old, great days. When dad wasn't a drunk, and didn't use to hit mum. When he loved her, and just her. When he only had her in his life.

I did this all very fast, and closed the suitcase. pulling it with effort, down the long stairs. Afraid that maybe, the man upstairs could hear it and come to me and start hitting me. Maybe it would've been better, easier than watching my mother torturing. When I found her waiting for me I nodded, saying no word at all. And we went out of the house, leaving it forever.

I didn't know then, what was waiting for us. Where we were leaving. What we were going to do. I didn't know how my mother was feeling exactly, just knew that she was hurt.

But now-

"Now I feel exactly like her." I said more to myself than to Max, who's been sitting by my side for a while.

"What? Like who?" She asked.

"My mother." I said simply. And that was it, I didn't need to explain, and I didn't need to talk.

"Sorry." Max managed to say. I half smiled and hugged her.

So it's all been a lie. His emotions. His words. Everything. I hate Sirius Black. He was nothing but a liar and a cheater.

"Thank you, Max."
