Fan Fiction 101

I've read a lot of fanfictions that need some help so here are some guidelines to write the best movella ever!
(I know that mine have mistakes but I only read over them on my iPad but not before I copy it onto the site so mine may not have all of theses qualities but this is the guideline I try to follow.)

3. Description

There needs to be description in a book. If there is a book that just says what the characters do and say, you will lose readers.

Ex. Joe and Mary went to the mall together. They looked at all the stores but one. They went into the last one and it was a dress shop. Mary decided to look for a prom dress. She found one that she really like.

"Joe! This is the one! I love it!"

Joe and Mary walked to the register and payed for the dress, then went home.

A lot of you were probably bored during that weren't you. Didn't you want to know what the dress looked like and how it looked on Mary? So many writers do this because they know what they want the dress to look like, but forget that they are not the readers. Readers can't read your mind, especially on here. When you reread your book, act like you are a reader and have no clue what will happened, or what Mary is thinking. Reading the example above, you wouldn't have been able to explain to someone what the dress looked like if they asked you or Mary's private thoughts about who she knew would be jelouse of her new dress. Therefore you need to make sure that whoever may be reading this book sees the exact picture you saw when writing it. Let the reader know exactly why Mary loved it!
