7. Unexpected Surprise

I woke up from a phone ringing. It was probably mine. Who else would be here, I mean seriously.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m coming.” I said as I stood up and walked to the dresser where my phone was going mad. “Hello?”

“Melody! Harry is gone! Is he with you?” a very freaked out Louis was screaming.

“Louis! Calm down. I just woke up. Hold on. I’ll go downstairs. Maybe he’s there.”

“Okay, but hurry up.”

I walked downstairs and sure enough he was there, snoring softly on the couch under my purple blanket.

“Louis, you will never guess what I’m looking at right now.” I said trying not to laugh.

“What?” he asked confused.

“He’s here alright. I’ll take a photo for you. Just come fetch him. I don’t want to be stuck here with him.”

“Ookaay… we’ll be there in 30 minutes, tops.” He said before hanging up. I quickly grabbed my camera and took a photo. The flash went off, but that didn’t wake him up, luckily. What do I do for 30 minutes? I thought as I walked back to the staircase. I spotted the piano in the middle of the floor. I haven’t played in years. I stroked the keys and it was in perfect tune. What to play? Hello by Evanescence popped into mind first. It’s kind of a depressing song, but I still like it. I started playing the intro, surprised that I remembered everything. Before I could stop myself I was singing the first lyrics, I didn’t stop myself though. It felt so right to play and sing again. I was halfway through the song when I got fed up and slammed my hands on the ivories making a horrible sound.

“Why’d you stop?” a raspy voice asked behind me. I didn’t turn around, but I knew I woke Harry.

“Because I felt like it.” I snapped at him a little.

“It was pretty amazing though.” He said.

“Ha! Yeah right.” I said standing up. I tripped on my own two feet and just waited for me to meet the floor, but I didn’t.

“Where’d the floor go?” I asked not opening my eyes. I knew perfectly well where I actually was and it made the butterflies go crazy.

“Would you really rather hit the hard ground than be saved by me? Do you really hate me that much?” he asked sounding completely hurt. I opened my eyes to find our faces mere inches apart. Considering my height, he must’ve been hunched over me to be this close. My breaths came quicker. His eyes were clear and shone like a thousand suns.

“I-I don’t h-hate you.” I managed to stutter out. He smiled down at me and looked into my eyes.

“You have stars in your eyes.” He whispered. I couldn’t do anything. He looked down to my lips and back to my eyes. I just stood there as he leaned in, not breaking eye contact. At the last moment I turned my head, breaking eye contact, resulting in him pulling back hesitantly, but with complete shock on his face.

“I’m sorry.” He said barely above a whisper.

“No, I’m sorry. I wasn’t completely honest with you. There are some things you don’t know about me and I think its time I tell you.” I said still looking anywhere but him. I led him back to the couch were my journal was left from last night.

“Uhm, you know I graduated high school, right?” I asked.

“Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?” he asked confused.

“Well, I graduated high school last year at the top of my class. I’m 15, turning 16 in a little less than a week, Harry.” I said finally looking at him again. He was in shock. It was written all over his face.

“What? How?” was all he could manage. And with that I told my life’s story that I have had to tell so many times these past few days again. I told about the sixth sense and all the other stuff I told last night.

“and that’s why I freaked out.” I finished. We sat there in silence. It wasn’t awkward, it was nice. I stood up and turned to go and change, because I just noticed I was still in pyjamas.

“Where are you going?” he asked suddenly.

“I’m just going to change.” I stated pointing to my current outfit.

“Oh. Okay.” He said laying down on the couch again. I ran to the bathroom, taking an extremely hot shower to clear my mind. I was out 10 minutes later, wrapped in a towel and standing in front of my closet. I grabbed a neon pink dress. It was a bit revealing but it didn’t show too much. It was a V-cut in front and came to my thighs. It was a tight fit over the chest and flowed out from there. I was just about to put my necklace on, when there was a knock on the door.

“Its open.” I said before I realised who it would be. I turned around and found exactly who I thought I would. His jaw was on the floor. I just smiled. “Can I help you?” I asked with a polite voice.

“I, uhm, the boys, wow.” he breathed.

“Uhm, Harry. Take a picture, it’ll last longer, and that didn’t make any sense.” I said giggling.

“The boys are here to pick me up. Are you going somewhere?” he asked coming out of his trance.

“Actually, yes. I have to get some White Sage and sweet grass and then just some random shopping at the mall.” I said turning around to put the necklace on, but ended up failing miserably.

“Here, I can help with that.” He said walking over. Soon it was in its place and I was left with goosebumps again.

“Thanks.” I said, clasping the bracelet in place.

“You should were them too.” He said pointing to the box in front of me.

“You didn’t have to buy me anything to say you were sorry, you know.” I said picking them out and putting them in my ears.

“I know. Do you want a ride to the mall?” he asked.

“Yeah, why not.” I said. “I’ll be down in a minute. I just have to find my shoes.”

“Okay.” He said going out the door. I got my black ballerina flats and was ready to go when my phone rang.

“Hello?” I said with a huge smile on my face for no reason.

“Good morning, I’m looking for a Miss Melody Lexus?” a mans voice rang out from the phone.

“Yes, this is she.”

“We have found your parents’ last will and testament. Everything has been left to you. Their savings have already been deposited into your bank account. The sum of £4 million has been deposited and the rest has been put into a savings account in your name.” the man stated.

“Are you kidding me?” I asked. I was dumbfounded.

“I kid you not, Miss. We understand that everything has been auctioned off in South Africa when you moved to London, am I correct?” he asked.

“Yes, that’s right.”

“Then everything is set. Goodbye Miss Lexus.” He didn’t even wait for me to say anything else before he hung up.

“Rude.” I said as I walked out of my room. I’m rich! Thank you mum and dad! I thought as I came to the balcony overlooking the foyer.

“Harry! Stop squirming in your seat. Do you have ants up your pants or something?” I heard Louis ask him.

“Uhm, Louis. I don’t think its ants!” Niall suddenly burst out laughing. What’s going on down there?

“OH MY GOD! Harry, what did you see up there that gave you that?!” Louis was laughing along with everybody else. I could just picture them rolling around on the carpet.

“Shut up guys! It’s not funny!” he shouted. Time to see what this was all about. I descended the stairs very elegantly seeing as I was wearing a dress.

“What’s all the commotion about?” I asked innocently. Louis and Niall was on the floor were I imagined them to be. Zayn and Liam were on the couches chuckling at Harry, who was once again staring at me.

“Wow! Look at you!” Zayn exclaimed.

“Now I know why he won’t sit still!” Louis shouted and everyone except Harry and I started laughing again.

“Can we go now?!” Harry shouted over the laughing boys. They all got up and ran for the car. Louis and Liam were in the front and Zayn, Niall and Harry were in the backseat. I just stood there. I was most likely going to sit on someone’s lap.

“Oh come on!” Louis shouted from the drivers’ seat. “Just sit on Harrys’ lap. He doesn’t bite! Most of the time…” he said under his breath. I looked at Harry and he patted his lap. I had no choice. I got in and immediately got pulled onto his lap. A soft groan escaping his lips, but apparently only I heard it. I suddenly realised what they were talking about in the living room not 5 minutes ago. Every bump in the road made it even worse. I looked at him once, but he had his eyes shut and was biting his lip to the extent that he would rip it lip off.

“You okay there, Harry?” Louis teased.

“Shut up and just keep driving.” He sounded strained and everyone chuckled. We were driving for 5 more minutes until we stopped in front of the mall.

“Thanks for the ride guys.” I said hopping out of the car seeing Harry relax a bit.

“It’s fine. Do you need a ride back later?” Liam asked.

“Oh, no. I’m going to be here a while.” I said.

“Call if you need anything, and I mean anything.” Harry whispered only loud enough for me to hear. His eyes were dark again. I just nodded and started walking to the entrance. I glanced over my shoulder to see they were still there. I saw Louis wiggling his eyebrows at Harry who just facepalmed and then they were off. Cheeky boy I thought as I walked inside.

Where to first? I thought as I came to the centre. I’m going to need some help. I pulled out my phone and called Lou. She would know what and were to go.

“Yeah! I’ll be there in ten!” she said.

“Meet you at Starbucks. And thanks Lou.”

“It’s my pleasure. I need a few new things too.”

“Okay, bye!”

“Bye!”

To Starbucks! Coffee! Coffee! Coffee! I chanted in my head as I walked to the shop.
