Dressing Up or Dressing Down? (One Direction/Lou Teasdale)

Melody is just an ordinary girl, or so she hopes. Her dream is to become a stylist, but after a traumatic experience it was locked in her inner closet. What will happen when she moves to London to be mentored by the famous Lou Teasdale, her idol? What will become of her when she meets the five lads everyone wants to meet? No one knows, except Fate.

15. Starry Skies And Cloudy Cousins

“Melody… wake up. We’re here.” I heard some one say. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I turned my head to see those emerald eyes staring at me again.

“Why do you keep doing that?” I asked a little groggy.

“Keep doing what?” he asked.

“Staring at me like that.” I said as I slumped back into my seat. We landed and I practically ran off the plane. I am not a big fan of flying. When I got to the ground I fell to the floor and started kissing it.

“Land, sweet land!” I repeated, receiving a few chuckles from everyone.

“Come on, Melody. Get up.” I heard Harry say from behind me.

“Fine.” I said pouting. He gave me a quick kiss and then took my hand in his as we walked through arrivals to the baggage claim. I quickly grabbed my bag as it came around and walked out of the way to wait for the boys. 5 minutes later I was joined by every one. I phoned Jane as we walked through the little shops.

“Hey cousin. Where are you?” she asked.

“We’re at that shop that sells the merchandise left over from the soccer world cup. I didn’t think they’d still be in business.” I said as I saw the boys playing with a few mascots and a ball.

“Okay, I’ll be right there.” She said and hung up. I walked over to the boys who were still fooling around.

“Didn’t your parents teach you not to play with a ball inside?” I asked looking at Louis and Niall.

“No.” they said at the same time.

“Where’s your cousin?” Liam asked putting the plush doll down.

“She said she’ll be here soon.” I said looking over the stuffed toys.

“I didn’t know South Africa hosted the world cup.” Louis said grabbing the ball and going to pay. We had some money exchanged so we were sorted for a while.

“There’s a lot you don’t know about this place.” I said as I saw Jane and her sister coming through the door.

“Cousin!” they both squealed and almost tackled me to the ground.

“Hey, girls.” I said giggling.

“Girls!” the boys said mimicking us and gave us a group hug.

“Girl in middle. Can’t. Breathe.” I said.

“Sorry.” They said letting go.

“Hold up.” Delilah said, her eyes growing wide.

“You’re…” Jane began but couldn’t finish. And just like that they started rambling on in Afrikaans. They boys gave me weird looks and I just waved it off.

“Uhm, can we switch back to English now? I mean, I understand every word you are squealing, but they don’t.” I said pointing to the boys.

“Oops. Force of habit.” They said still looking like they were about to burst.

“Melody, why didn’t you tell me you were friends with One freaking Direction?” Jane said stomping towards me.

“I didn’t know. I swear.” I said cowering behind a mascot doll.

“Are you telling me you didn’t know who they were?” Delilah said cornering me.

“I promise I would have told you if I knew.” I said.

“Jane. Code green.” Delilah gave the signal.

“No! Please!” but it was too late, they were already on top of me and tickling the living daylights out of me.

“pl-please st-stop!” I struggled between laughing fits.

“What’s the magic words?” they said.

“You are the best in the world?” I tried.

“You know it.” They said letting go of me and high-fiving. I got up and dusted myself off.

“Jeez. What great friends you are.” I said looking over to the boys who were almost peeing themselves.

“Oh, Melody. You should have seen your face!” Louis laughed.

“Shut up.” I muttered.

“She’s turning into Harry!” He shrieked.

“Come on. Lets get going. We still have to get back to the farm.” Jane said.

“Who’s driving?” Zayn asked.

“Me.” Delilah said.

“How old are you? You don’t look old enough to drive.” Liam asked.

“I am actually 18, so legal I definitely am.” She said placing her hands on her hips.

“Okay, okay.” He said holding his hands up in surrender.

We walked outside to their truck. I immediately hopped in the back.

“What are you doing?” Harry asked as I made myself comfortable.

“Getting ready to go. We won’t all fit in there, so four of you will have to sit with me here.” I said in a ‘duh’ kind of way. Harry got on and sat next to me smiling. Louis, Niall and Zayn joined us.

“I guess its decided then.” Liam said holding the door open for Jane. She hopped in and sat in the middle with Delilah in the driver’s seat. I heard the engine roar to life and we were on our way. It was 2 am and I was still tired. I pulled my knees up and rested my forehead on my knees. I felt a pair of warm arms wrap around me and pull me closer to him. I knew who it was. I looked up at him and he was smiling at me. I lied down on my back with my head in his lap. I couldn’t sleep now. I was too busy staring at the stars. They were so different than the ones in London. I knew these stars like the back of my hand. I could tell Harry was still staring at me, but I ignored him. I was still stuck in the stars and the almost full moon. It’s my birthday, I realised.

“Happy birthday.” He mouthed to me. I just stared at him. How does he do that? We came to a stop and I sat up.

“We’re here.” I said as I jumped off the back landing swiftly on my feet. I turned to grab my bag, but Harry already had it.

“I got it.” He said smiling.

“Thanks.” I said turning back to face the house in front of me. Lights were on in every room except one, their parents’ room.

“Uhm, girls. Were is Jackie and Steve?” I asked.

“Oh, mum and dad are away for a while.” Jane said.

“We’ve got the house all to ourselves.” Delilah said. I nodded. This was going to be interesting. We walked up to the house when I heard a whinny coming from the nearest fence. I stopped and turned to face the sound.

“Gypsy!” I exclaimed and walked towards the pitch black Shire horse. “I missed you too girl.” I said as I brushed over her nose and scratched her ears.

“Melody, you can have your make out session in the morning!” Jane called. The boys were laughing at me again.

“Shut up, Jane.” I said as I gave the mare one final scratch and walked into the house.

“Okay. The first four doors to your right upstairs are off limits. That’s our rooms. You can go and claim yours now.” Delilah said as the boys ran upstairs. We heard a few shouts and just laughed.

“I’m going to go to bed now. See you in the morning.” I said as I picked up my bag and walked to my room. I instantly passed out when my head met the pillow.
