Dressing Up or Dressing Down? (One Direction/Lou Teasdale)

Melody is just an ordinary girl, or so she hopes. Her dream is to become a stylist, but after a traumatic experience it was locked in her inner closet. What will happen when she moves to London to be mentored by the famous Lou Teasdale, her idol? What will become of her when she meets the five lads everyone wants to meet? No one knows, except Fate.

21. Little Lux

I woke up to the sounds of sirens going off and doctors yelling instructions. My room was right next to the nursing station, so the sound was ten times worse than it would have been. I recognised the shouting and the codes they were yelling, someone was flat lining. I remembered when my parents were flat lining. I was in panic. The only thing that kept me standing was my cousins. I looked at my phone, 6 am. Might as well ‘get up’.

“Good morning. Just here to drop off your pills.” A nurse said coming in with two pills in her one hand and a tall glass of water in the other.

“Morning. Judging by the sounds coming from out there it doesn’t sound good.” I said pointing to the door.

“Don’t worry about that. Just focus on getting better. The doctor will be on rounds as soon as he is not needed out there anymore.” She said patting my leg and waiting for me to swallow the pills, which I did, before disappearing.

The pills made me sleepy again and I snuggled into the duvet and pillow again, closing my eyes as the noise around me started to fade into the background.

When I reopened my eyes the doctor was standing at the foot of my bed filling in a form.

“Good. You’re awake. How are you feeling today?” he asked.

“Sleepy, but the cramps have stopped and I haven’t been sick again.” I yawned and stretched my arms.

“That’s good to hear. You know what that means?” he asked.

“No.” I said wanting to roll my eyes so badly.

“You can go home as soon as the paperwork is finished. A nurse will tell you when that is. Have a good day, miss. And tell whoever gave you that, they should reconsider the placement next time.” he chuckled pointing at the hickey. I just nodded and he disappeared.

“Oh man.” I sighed placing my head in my hands. My phone vibrated and I saw someone was ringing my FaceTime. I answered the call and Lou’s head popped up.

“Hey, Lou.” I said happy to see her.

“Hey. I heard you were sick. Something about stomach flu.” She said sounding worried.

“Yeah, but I can go home once the paperwork is finished. I’m a lot better than I was yesterday.”

“That’s wonderful!” she exclaimed. Suddenly a small head of hair popped up with her. “Oh, Melody. This is Lux, my daughter.”

“Hi, Lux.” I smiled at the girl who was tugging at Lou’s hair and whispering something in her ear.

“Yes, we can. I’ll be there in a second.” She told Lux as she disappeared again. “I have to make chocolate clusters now.”

“Have fun.” I laughed at her expression.

“Knowing her, there will be ingredients everywhere. Bye, see you soon.

“Bye Lou!” I said laughing.

I sighed as I lied down. I put my headphones on and started flipping through the channels. I spotted a good movie and turned the volume up. Lets just say the pills weren’t completely out of my system yet, because I fell asleep again with my headphones on.
